Don't know what we are doing today, I rather suspect some clearing and decluttering will be in order, as I have said before it's easy for me to do here as I have no emotional attachment or guilt re how much it cost. Bil has started listing stuff of fleabay which is brilliant and I am proud of them - I ought so mention that to them. Their long term goal is to have room in the garage to park a car. The double garage...

Morning all. Lovely clear blue sky and sunshine here today
Glad your DS2 is pleased with his sales and purchases, dancemum.
Narc0, I hope Mr N manages to find a place where his mother is happy and safe.
Well done with the ironing, Dizzy Imp :T
Valli, I thought it would be easy to help my friend declutter her mother's house, but she is still clinging onto everything. I hope your sister and BiL are able to be less possessive about things they no longer use.
How are you, Mrs-mp?
Froddy, I am thinking about WDYTYA.
This week seems to have gone in a flash! Yesterday morning we had DGD1+2 here to play, and it wasn't long before they were demanding heffalump rides from DH. (Apparently they aren't allowed to do this sort of thing at home, but hey-ho!) After about 10 minutes of that, I decided that they had too much energy and we'd better run it off, so we took them for a brisk walk/run along the lane with plenty of puddle jumping, saw the buzzard close by in the field, played hide and seek in the beech wood and were out for about an hour altogether. That helped a bit! I then taught them how to chop carrots safely - I believe in giving children proper sharp knives: blunt ones are much more dangerous - they were both were very good and we had no sliced fingersA hearty lunch was eaten by all, and they went home happy.
I am currently running a course on Thursday evenings so preparing for that took up the rest of my day.
Today has a medical theme. This morning I have registered successfully with our new GP practice's online appointment booking system and managed to get the last freely available appointment today with having to ring the practice(They also keep back a dozen or so appointments for people who phone in from 8.00) I have to be there at 9.40, followed by DH with an appointment at 10.20 with a different Dr, then I have to get to the dentist up the road for a check-up at 11.05. We can do bits of shopping at @ld1 and the PO and deliver stuff to the CS in between.
Apart from that, I have more papers to file and course writing to do, and while the sun is shining I could do with planting out a few bits and pieces that I've bought on recent garden visits. I need more hellebores for the back border - I feel a visit to our local specialists coming on (they have a very pleasant tea room too - maybe tomorrow or Sunday? :rotfl:)
Ah, breakfast time! Catch up later - (((hugs))) to all, and please help yourselves to spoons and sticks if you need some today x0 -
Ooo a bit of a lie-in! Interspersed with DS and another bad dream (need a chat about this) and a bl00dy text from work. I've spent 10min on the phone (to apologies) explaining where things are. I do feel sorry for what has crept up today (two weeks early) but I sure ain't volunteering to help...
And I'm not going to stay cross all day about it:)
Today we are staying home. It's bright so we might get outdoors, I've plugged in DS buggy to recharge and we might have a wander round the garden tidying.
Hope the sun is shining for you! XBossymoo

Morning all
DD is still in bed. I'm letting her sleep as much as possible. She said last night she was feeling much better but her tonsils say otherwise. I'll wait to see how things are when she gets up and decide whether its a walk in job or not. I never go to the docs with a sore throat, I always do hot toddys at home for a day or so which usually clears it.
I've put a wash load on which is now in the drier, the livingroom is as straight as it can be with laundry & work related stuff out, my bedroom is straight including making the bed, and I've washed up just about everything then S&S the kitchen. I need to change the filter on the water jug so I've got the jug in soaking in hot soapy water. I've even opened the windows downstairs to let the place air. Computer dailies are as done as possible and now I'm itching to fly today right through the house, but no such luck as I still have work to do.
Time for work for me as soon as my next coffee is readyHopefully I'll be able to report back some flying later, but I can see tomorrow being a flying day instead at this rate.
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Right! I've had enough!
I officially have two small children and three huge dogs up for sale - any takers?
In no particular order:
Juice knocked over in the upstairs playroom which went through the floorboards and ceiling to the lounge below
Loo roll unravelled and toilet stuffed to overflowing
Further juice tipped over in the caravan
Girl Pup peed twice in fright of the plastic bag needed to keep her footbandage clean and dry. Obviously both times on non-washable surfaces!
Said pup came back in minus bag with a mud-soaked foot
Chickens found eating one of their eggs! Cannibals!
Boy Pup broken the steps up into the caravan and nearly his own leg at the same time, as he slipped on the icy mud trying to get back in.
Had a power cut in the middle of our shower. All soapy and cold obvs...
Vets now - they had better be nice.0 -
Oh dizzy you couldn't make it up xx that's why they say never to work with children or animals...
(Hugs)Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Sending you a hug Dizzy - I know how you feel. I don't know if it will help but when Whiz had a bad pad on his paw we had the bandage and then I put some packing tape around it - it wasn't pretty but he didn't get it off and it was waterproof.
Your work are really taking the micky Bossy; glad you won't let it affect your day but they're behaving so badly. I'm afraid that sort of thing often happens when someone is going. Not much longer and you'll be rid of them.
Nicki hope DD improves more during the day and her tonsils settle down again.
Iona had to smile about your DH giving heffalump rides to the grandchildren!
Just in from a lovely walk with J and the dogs. Could have been tricky as the subject of going away came up .... I wanted to take Whiz but he wants it to be him and me so I've got to sort out boarding but what was good was we spoke about how we have to compromise and work together rather than either of us just stomping off. So I guess that's progress, right?
Going to do the kids rooms, they certainly need it. Catch you later xFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Think of it as Tough Love regarding the work phone calls, Bossy.Their long term goal is to have room in the garage to park a car. The double garage...
(((Hugs))) Dizzy.
The pigeon spacers have finally arrived for the bird feeders so I've put an extra one out for the goldfinches and they've gone mad! I heard them fighting earlier this week and I think it's because it was so cold and they're desperate for the food. The blackbirds I feed on our first dog walk have decided they don't mind several others eating at the same time so they fly in from all directions as I approach the place. I'm pretty chuffed with my birds, all things considered.
Yesterdays fridge defrosting wasn't that successful - it seems I didn't actually turn it off! Poor little confused Zanu$$i is slowly recovering but still [STRIKE]a bit[/STRIKE] quite icy. I'll get the hang of this Flying lark eventually.
Day off from frog-munching apart from one package to post, and some easy peasy straightforward internet research.Better is good enough.0
