Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Piggers for last weeks thread and peaceful days for Bossy

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!

I'm in and first! Not that I have been very efficient this weekend, everything is half done. My weekend list which I posted on Fri:
    Weekend plan:
[STRIKE]Finish at least 2 reports[/STRIKE].Only totally finished one, but the night is yet young
    [STRIKE]Write up 3 lessons[/STRIKE].
Pick up clothes etc from bedroom.Well I did, sort of, but somehow more got on there
    [STRIKE]Go to supermarket.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Make soup for Lent lunch on Sun.[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Get paperwork ready for Monday's assessment. Get lounge clean for the same reason.[/STRIKE]I can't lay claim to the cleaning I'm afraid; Mr N did it
    [STRIKE]renew library books on line[/STRIKE]

Gosh, it looks awfully pathetic. I'm sure I must have done some other stuff :o Oh yes, I did plan a short workout involving the rebounder and resistance bands, so I can do a 15min blitz when I can't go to the gym.

Just come back and watched Midwives after a valentine's day meal. Mixed; they took forever to serve, it was 25mins before they even took a drink order. They weren't terribly forthcoming about allergens. However the meal I had was very nice. Oh well, can feel less bad about my lovely raspberry chocs Mr N gave me as I'm sure beef stir fry has less calories than the chicken in coconut and peanut sauce I fancied but apparently contained wheat. Our 38th Valentine's day together, we are so lucky.

Tomorrow I have an assessment at home in the morning, then will do more reports and fine tune any tidying before our friends come for the eve. Have planned roast chicken then will dig some fruit out of the freezer and make a dessert.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Narco- wow! That's a lot of valentines days! Congrats!

Bossy- well done to your dd. I tried to do that with ds and we failed miserably so I have resorted to doing it on my own!

We had preliminary test results back today and things looking positive. Won't get final results back until tomorrow but whatever happens we are here until wed/thurs.

Ds1 came again today and he was so chuffed to hold her this time. He seemed so grown up! Ds2 coming tomorrow. We decided it was better if they came seperately. Lots of friends have offered their services so I think we have planned out the next few days for ds1 and 2 and they should be kept occupied!

Happy flying ladies. Hugs to anyone I have missed xx x

Hi all, thanks for the thread, ladies. I'd love to say I'm in, but I think I might not be this week. Maybe Friday - but I'm booked up until then...

Glad things are looking positive for baby frizzle xx

We were out from 10:30 until gone 6pm so very little achieved here - but I did sort 4 lightbulbs and a smoke alarm battery:) the 5th bulb won't come out! I may need to call for backup!

School hols here so granny is on site, lol. I'll be up and off to work, hopefully with everyone else staying in bed! That will be a peaceful start for me, and much needed rest for them!

Have a good week everyone and hugs to those in need, especially CY, mumof2 and, well, all of you really! X

I'm hoping to get some frogs munched this week while DD is here to hold the step ladder/pass me stuff/keep Zack away. I've had the stuff to decorate the house for 18 months now and apart from the livingroom I've not made much progress...and that needs repainting! :o I'm also going to try and get DD to take full responsibility for Zack during the holidays since he's supposed to be her dog!

Off to kill some time on the 'net while my phone charges for the second time today :o

Thank you for the new list, Natty, and for last week's, pigpen.

Frizzle, that's good news about Little Miss F. You all sound very organised - I'm sure your boys are being spoilt and having a wonderful time wherever they are, but they'll still be glad to have you home!

Pigpen, what's up now? Have you run out of wool?
    to Froddy.
MMM, I hope you have a better week ahead and that the phonecall is straightforward.
Congratulations to Narc0 and Mr N
Glad you've got help at home this week, Bossy.
All power to your elbow for the decorating, nicki!

    See you tomorrow x
