Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Thank you Bossy for last weeks thread
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
Some of our abbreviations: DH- dear husband, OH- other half, KH/CF- affectionate term for ex husband or partner
DS/DD- dear son/daughter, DGC- dear grandchild, WM- washing machine, DW- dishwasher, LR/DR- living/dining room, RoD- room of doom, Mr S/A/T/M/L/Al- supermarkets Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi. You get the picture!

Evening everyone, I wanted to apologise for not being here lately. Unfortunately I am completely tied up with my year long intense therapy 3 days a week.. I feel like I've gone back to work the amount of time I am out of the house.. I even have to get up at 7am to leave for gone 8am
The long drive doesn't help me but thankfully it gives me a chance to unwind at the end of the day..and then I can face the cooking when I get home.
FIL is now in his respite home permanently, my MIL has got him a place in there which he is really happy about staying in. So thankfully that is one less worry regarding him.. Although to tell you the truth I haven't got the mental energy to worry about him at the moment..
I haven't read the thread back, I am so sorryBut I wanted to offer all my hugs, love and birthday/anniversary greetings to those that need them/want them
Could I please have lost finding vibes please? I have somehow misplaced my Nexus tablet and for the life I can't find it.....and I have no idea where the darn thing is..
I hope everyone is doing okay..Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Hi Natty, thanks for thread and don't apologise, you sound as if you have had a pretty busy time and I hope you start to see improvement. Good news about FIL.
I'll start the thread with thanks for all your vibes regarding my g.nephew; my mum just rang and incredibly they have sent him home!! In a hospital car as my niece was so shocked that he was coming home so soon that she didn't feel confident (it is 50 miles from the hospital to their home). Apparently his sight is improving all the time.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Oh and I feel a bad pup mummy as I have had to resort to getting a crate for Banji
Unfortunately he is getting really unruly even with discipline, which he is totally rebelling against, and we can't eat anything without him trying to eat it as well.
So I've orerded a big crate from Amazon which is coming tomorrow, and as he likes dens anyway he should be okay with it. I'm just beating myself up over it as I vowed I wouldn't EVER get a crate. Willful Jack Russell...sometimes I could scream with him..lol
Oh and welcome back to the thread making PiggersI have your fluffy mules in storage if you want to get them out anytime

Hi Natty nice to see you. We have a terrier too and he is very very greedy. This is a good thing when you are trying to train him as he will always be coaxed by food. They are strong willed though and I dont think a crate is a bad thing if its used properly. We have a dog gate between the kitchen and utility room too which is handy.
I am in. Tired. I have just finished DHs monthly bills and now I have to help DS1 with preparation for another careers adviser appointment tomorrow. Why did we leave this until tonight?
Suspect it will be an early night as tomorrow is going to be a challenging day at work.0 -
Aww natty hope the therapy sessions are helping. And don't feel bad about the doggie, there has to be some boundaries xx
I'm going to try be in - altho tue definitely won't happen since i'm out for 14hrs straight:o but happy days I did the upstairs bathrooms todayso I'm a bit ahead of myself:T
I won't be able to do the floor in my office, which is completely covered at the mo. But I will aim to do a tidy and wipe over of my desk area tomorrow once the kidlets are in bed.
I've tonight sorted the kitchen, made packup and got bags etc ready. Alarm is on, and we are ready for the week ahead. Practically, if not mentally
Great news the little laddie is on his way home :TBossymoo
