Nicki.. My daughter has one like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Non-Pull-Harness-Assistance-X-Small-X-Large/dp/B015IWKPW2/ref=sr_1_3?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1454320972&sr=1-3&keywords=dog+body+harness for her monster muttley.. he won't walk nicely at all and has broken several leads and harnesses and just runs off, he is a blooming pest.

Is it not still recommended to change direction each time they pull? Or make them sit or something??

Been worrying about Dad he has Parkinson's and not eating spends most of his time asleep now. Mum 79 looks after him( they refuse to have carers) and I'm 165 miles away. Sister who is 20 mins away sent me text on Friday to tell me they had no milk! I wasn't sure what she thought I could do so loads of tears here -it breaks my heart and the constant trips to see them was one of reasons OH moved out a couple of years ago as I was spending more time there than here.

Don't apologise; it is hard when parents start getting older. I left home at 18 for a job 130 miles away and have stayed in that area....fast forward and now mum is 84, step-dad passed 10 yrs ago and my brother and sil live about half way between mum and I. Mr N's mum, who is a couple of years older than mine and a bit more frail, lives 4 miles from us. Luckily my mum is still pretty active, but it is a worry if/when she is ever under the weather.

I've got one load of washing on the line, trying to make the most of the current windy but dry conditions with another load in the machine.

Plan to finish a report this morning then do our en suite; the shiny stuff (towel rail etc) has been irritating me for ages as it badly needs a polish. Also on list:
    - email vicar's wife to put something in village magazine about lilies for Easter.
    - see if RSPB site is working to put in my bird count. Yesterday it didn't like my password, so I have requested a re-set twice but nothing has come through.
    - pay claim form for uni
    - start another report
    - finish filing paperwork from old reports now new binders and boxes have arrived.
-ring friend to arrange lift to flower club tomorrow.

    Hello!

I was pointed in this direction that you were a friendly helpful bunch - so please can I join? One question though - I'm not sure I understand the different levels? Sorry if this is explained somewhere!

Nicki - I've got an unruly jack Russell too! Recently bought him a canny collar as he pulls so much, chokes himself to the extent his tongue goes blue but still doesn't car! I'm finding that it works wanders! He doesn't like it and dives on every patch of grass to rub his face and he can hook it off with his paw, but he's slowly learning that if he gets it off I put it straight back on!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,935.00
Total paid off - £9,665.89 (61% paid off)

Welcome Twiggy. The levels are just a guide as to what you can do if you have more or less time. I'm such a sloth I keep hoping they will start on negative levels; I'd be great.
Minus 1 bit of clutter around
Minus 2 clutter and crumbs/mud/pet hair around
Minus 3 ......oh no I'd better not go there.
Just aim to do what you can do and don't beat yourself up over what you can't do is the general message!

Remembered another thing for my list, got a charity bag to fill for collection tomorrow.

The idea is the levels are meant to be 15 minutes each.. so if you have 15 minutes do level one, 30 minutes level two.. however, you may find in the first few weeks they take longer than the 15 minutes!

Just do what you can.. and anything you do get done is an achievement .. it takes time, your home doesn't get messy overnight.. though it does feel like it!

Just do what you can.. and at some point today I may actually move out of my chair!!

  • Valli, re Adam ant, it will be the first time I've seen him, I was a huge fan but never went to concerts when I was younger.

I'm off to work, will catch up later, I've done a bit in the bathroom, plus some patchwork.

HHC anyone? I'm just writing a report conclusion and can't find a particular text book I need so it is high time to blitz the study.

Katiecat, I know the feeling this is where I go when I am on my long drives as I call them, normally 3 hours each way in a day. Mind you, in the summer months one of the flyladies has her hols in the area, and last summer we met up plus another local to the area.
Can you do an online shop for them, and get it delivered, for the basics, milk, bread, tins, pasta etc?

    Right e ho

    Guttering clean out yuk
    Tip run done
    New fence panel ordered
New kitchen sink ordered, old one 30 years and going rusty at an edge.
Office gas boiler has quite litterally gone bang, so isolated, relevant folk called, plumber etc on his way in a day or so.
Office printer now playing up so going to have to look at that, it is about 8 years old, so if not easy to fix, I'll buy another one.
Money shuffle done, I need to after the money I have spent out today, good job I have a budget for all this, and it is covered.
