After taking some time to think about it, youngest has firmed his 1st choice university, Lincoln.

    He's much happier now.

Good. Hope you're happier too, now he's less stressed. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Thanks for the links. :)

Anyone else get annoyed that clicking on links forwards you to the link rather than opening it in a new tab?

You are not alone in finding that annoying.

Well done about the sudoku finals! :T:T

It is rather - in my Seamonkey browser I right-click and choose to open in a new window. What different browsers do, or require for that, may differ.

Mine used to open in a different window but for the last month or so, it's taken me off here and onto the new link...most annoying.

Got a bit of a question, Joe is concerned about missing anymore college especially as he doesn't have all the facilities at home for one particular bit of his course which is due in very soon. He is still suffering dizziness and a milder headache from his concussion alongside some disorientation and mild memory problems, my feeling is to keep him off for safety (and they do advise it while symptoms persist) but he is stressing about missing vital information/falling behind.

What the blooming hell do I do? Him stressing about it could actually be worse than him just going in to college! It would be just for the afternoon today but he has a full day tomorrow.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Can he work from home? Any course material online? How about getting far ahead in other work he can do from home, so the catch up is constrained to one area?

Dizziness and disorientation suggests he should be at home.

He can cover the majority of the work at home (it's how he has done most of the course to be honest and why he is still in ahead in other areas despite his sickness record) but it is this one particular unit work he cannot do remotely and has to be in college to do...and that is due in very very soon with no leeway on time, hence his stress.

And I agree, he should be at home but he is getting himself so het up about it all that he is in danger of making himself worse.

Oh Sue, what a dilemma :(
I realise you've said there is no leeway on time, but surely under the circumstances he should be allowed an extension?

Absolutely. Under most circumstances a doctor's note saying he's concussed and shouldn't be leaving the house should be enough to get him an extension from even the most rigid educational establishment. What do the college say about it?

I don't understand this new tab business. :(

Failing getting a time extension, which I agree, surely cannot be withheld?, could you go in with him, and be with him the whole time he needs to be there? I know that would be a complete pain, but it's just a thought.

Chrome also allows me to right-click and select "open in new tab".

Pyxis - we can explain if we know where to start. Do you know what tabs are? Are you familiar with having several open at once?
