Cold morning - and the unexpected. Looked out of the window to see how white it is and I saw "something black" lying between my car and next door's. Now, I'm sure it's not me that's "dropped something", but I was intrigued... except I can't get out to the car as the entire gate handle/lock mechanism has frozen inside its housing..... handle won't therefore turn.

    Never heard of that before.

    Stick something warm on it.

Or have you got some de-icer (that isn't in the car!)

I hope the black thing isn't a dead animal. :(

hand gel is good for defrosting. Or spray de-icer in the lock. Or heat the key.

Hopefully it will turn out to be just a bin-bag.

I have been watching the new series of "An Island Parish" which this time is in Anguilla, in the Caribbean.

Has anyone ever been there? It's still a British Overseas Territory, like the Falklands, but I've scarcely heard of it.

I wasn't that bothered as I knew it couldn't be mine and it was probably "just a hat or a plastic bag" and that nobody else would pass by/pick it up, so the owner would spot it.

I did put icer on it... made no noticeable difference, it's the inside that was frozen. And I wasn't that bothered....

I did eventually get out, it was next door's woolly hat. So I left it there as it was clearly visible and within his space markings, so I couldn't have thought of a better place for it even if I'd picked it up.

Which is why life is so unfair ....

I'd probably do it better, in half the time, too :P
