How are you feeling about having him living at home? I hope it works out really well for you all.
He's been at home (since uni) for 3 months now. The only thing he has had to do is focus on finding a job. That has taken up quite a bit of time but obviously has left him with some time unoccupied. He has been remarkably positive throughout, but it has got to the point in the last couple of weeks where he has been getting frustrated.
He will happily carry on living at home initially. I'm more than happy with that.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Before yesterday he would have accepted it like a shot as it was his first choice university, he absolutely loved it there and the course offered is a perfect fit for him. The only reason he is confuzzled is because of the very nice email and very fast response from York.
He may do best if he is studying the course he likes most.
Pastoral care is important, and practical things like whether the uni can provide accommodation in hall for all three years.
I wouldn't worry about which town has nicer architecture, as nobody notices after the first week.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

What GDB said.
Also, will youngest need extra support to study and live for spectrum reasons? If so, which university looks best for this?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
It interests me that people care about there surname, I guess I am with Shakespeare(i think) on it 'would a rose be more lovely with a different name' - it is the thing that matters, not the random set of syllables we attach to it for language purposes.
That's interesting, because I'm the complete opposite! Names that I have, or have given to others are incredibly important!
It's one reason why I didn't change my name on marriage. (Just as well, as I'd have had to change it back on the divorce! Hahahaha!)
Even my pets have had names that were deliberated over for a while. They have to sound nice, mean something nice, have 'nice' letters in them, and look 'nice' when written down.
I spent forever choosing my usernames on here and elsewhere! :rotfl:
I know, I'm weird! :rotfl:Such happy news on here atm

Oh well, that's one gem you'll all have to live without! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Is this the one who wants to be a spad?
No. That was the other one who is in the not for profit sector but not a spad.
This one did .......I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. I wonder where my GCE certificates are?:o
I have an smallish, old tin trunk that is my 'treasure box' and contains all my certifcates, and historic personal stuff, like my very first (little red booklet) driving licence and my expired passports, newspaper cuttings with me in, some primary and secondary school exercise books, and other stuff like that, meaningful and/or milestone stuff.
(Not financial stuff, not photos, just "My Life" stuff).
