Agree. I think most base their offers on likely grades that the students will achieve in their A levels.
Apparently you can now buy personal statements! Chat with a professional writer and they send you a personal statement that's guaranteed to impress.
Oooh Joe would never go for that, it's cheating and he does not like cheating or lying.
His struggle with the PS is the restriction on how much he can write, he loves writing and a short essay (to him) is 3000 words so trying to get all the info over in 4000 characters (less than 500 words) is seriously stressing him out, in his world, that is less than a short note!
He also doesn't believe in making yourself look better than you are, as far as he is concerned, the results and achievements should speak for themselves. I'm just glad he has his PPT to guide him otherwise his PS will look like a research document with conclusions....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Should I move house because there is a potential money making opportunity? Is the hassle worth 300k?
If that's 300k profit, then, erm, yes!(I just lurve spiders!)

Exam excellence isn't everything - so many traders I've known have done very nicely for themselves. Just talking at the weekend to a scaffolder I know, he's built a large company in 10 years and also invested in a new enterprise building swimming pools - his lifestyle resembles that of a Premier footballer.
Had a beer with one of my Brothers Saturday and you always get these middle aged guys out on the town that own skip hire firms / suppliers of decking (from the yard they own) and what not, well known for their wealth - 'dolly birds' halve their age in tow, black Range Rover on their drive, seem to spend much of their time sunning themselves in Spain.
Talking to my Accountant this morning - he was moaning about all these' wide boys' wanting to fiddle the tax, and put pressure on him to go along with it. He says the HMRC are using a super computer to tap into the lifestyles these people lead and comparing to their supposed low income levels. They are apparently tapping into Facebook etc to establish if the lifestyle is at odds with the tax return
A lot of these guys laugh at pen pushers slaving away for a 30th of what they make. They scoff at the whole 'graduates earn more' thang, knowing full well they keep their self emplyed 'official' incomes far lower than the reality
For a lot of them their lifestyles are funded by cheap credit and massive debts. Remortgaging their ever increasing property value to tap on more cash.

I suddenly had to help with our ks2 science homework on filtration - we dashed something off in a couple of minutes via reading the back of the fridge water filter cartridge box and googling BBC bitesize and when it was marked apparently is was 'GCSE level' work. I must admit this makes me despair about the GCSE science standard

Can't you fund it without moving? What does your DW say?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Two questions...
1. How close is this house to being your "forever home". If that's important to you, and it is close think about what that loss will mean to you in non monetary terms.
2. How will it impact the children's schooling?
Also.... rather than funding a btl can you use the money and make a bridging loan, then sell said property to fund two btl properties? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

The uni admissions officers must be so completely fed up with personal statements that start:
"Since the age of 5, I have been passionate about wanting to study accountancy at university."
Passionate - I hate that word with a, well, passion. Everyone has to be passionate about everything they do. Grrr.
He also doesn't believe in making yourself look better than you are, as far as he is concerned, the results and achievements should speak for themselves.
Why I'm rubbish at sales - incapable of saying we take stuff from A to B, when what we do is so much more complicated than general work. As for personal life, I can't gild that either. If that's 300k profit, then, erm, yes!
I'd be very hassled for 30k!0 -

We would be happy staying where we are till the kids go and we downsize. Then again it is not such an unusual home that there are not hundreds of others just as good. No impact on kids schooling just a lot of disruption for a year or so with two house moves.
It might force us to declutter which would be a good thing.I think....0 -

Couldn't you declutter without moving, if your current home is just right for you at this stage in your lives?
