The rain finally arrived here and I can see what everybody means. It's like stair-rods. DW was driving and said all the cars on the A3 slowed to a crawl as visibility got so bad. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

- so I've bunged in the last of my bulbs, almost. The "real" last ones need soaking overnight first, so that's a job for tomorrow - if two minutes of poking small bulbs into earth can really be called a job.
I've got about 150 tulip bulbs to put in - it may take me longer than two minutes...
Of course, they may never get in the ground after I'm distracted by the new puppy.......0 -

Ah, but these were the last 30 or so left to be done out of about 500. The ground had already been prepped so all I had to do was poke 'em into it and cover them over.
The other 470ish definitely took longer than 2 minsOf course, they may never get in the ground after I'm distracted by the new puppy.......
And if they do get into the ground, said puppy might dig 'em up again0 -

In which case you win on sheer quantity! ( and for energy!). New puppy won't be allowed in that bit of the garden - there's a back 'dog' bit and a side 'non-dog' bit.
Must strengthen fencing:D0 -

I owe you guys a huge apology, I've been meaning to catch up properly for the last few weeks and life's got in the way. It's actually made me realise how much of a mess life is at the moment.
I've put out a request for any contract work with a March/April start, and whilst I was expecting about £x in turnover terms initially it's looking like it could be 3-4x this.
That's led me to have to deal with a much bigger than expected financing gap, as before I was just about coping, now I definitely can't. Barclays have been useless (and actually haven't allowed me to physically sit down in front of someone until I've complained about how they've come to a lending decision, as it's reasonably obvious they haven't listened to a word I've said during both the initial call and the appeal).
Some things are better explained with paperwork and to make a complaint I've had to go into a branch, 3 weeks later I've still not heard anything back.
Also currently dealing with an MP on something similar, as it seems to have sped up where I am significantly. Any lending required is around 130% asset backed initially (small dip, then the number goes higher, but never below around 115%).
Also expecting a final decision by Christmas regarding what my plans actually are, although my personal life (and finances) are too much of a mess at the moment to commit to any big spending that isn't related to what I'm already involved in
Only way is up💙💛 💔0 -
We're still living and breathing uni decisions.....this week it is personal statement angst. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

So, you gingered them up quite successfully, thank goodness. Well done. You can't charge them for that, so your only loss is the 8% for a few months. If you complain enough, they might reduce that, but is it worth your time?
Fired off one email complaining and they've responded with a list of specific dates when they will report back with status updates. Seem to be taking their obligations quite seriously now. They've also said we categorically won't be out of pocket over this.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
