Who do you turn to when a no win, no fee firm of solicitors makes a catalogue of errors?

It depends whether everything has been finished? If it is ongoing, you are better to concentrate on the errors that really matter. Then, hopefully, the solicitors can sort these out and get on with the finishing the job properly.

Making a whole list of minute failings is quite satisfying for the customer, but it tends to side-track the bigger issues.

If the job has been finished but just been done badly, are you proposing to sue? Bear in mind that the judge is not going to be interested in issues which are purely poor customer service and have no financial impact.

I recently advised my professional body on a case where one of my professional colleagues had produced a report in a hurry. He made a couple of minor but significant errors, plus a whole host of trivial ones, like typos. The client insisted on "a completely new report", which was duly produced, but which turned out to be far less favourable for him. What the client actually needed was to get the two significant errors corrected, but instead he got fixated on all the typos.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

So, you gingered them up quite successfully, thank goodness. Well done. You can't charge them for that, so your only loss is the 8% for a few months. If you complain enough, they might reduce that, but is it worth your time?

I woke up, got up, wasn't bothered that it's still dark as I thought it'll be light soon... made a coffee, then looked at the PC clock - 3.30am.

OMG I thought, how did that happen? Then I twigged "Hey, street light's on outside; that's never on at 3.30am" - so I squinted in the dark at the actual radio-controlled clock and that says it's 7am.

    :)

Weather's rough - local weather site says wind is 50 SSE, but the rain's been battering the windows and the wind's been making funny noises - but, as it's pitch dark, I can't go and see what's going on out there.... but it "all sounded very different to most regular wind/rain storms".

It could just be that the wind's coming from a different direction to normal, so is making different noises as it hits a different angle of your house.

Very likely - unless it's all the kids' abandoned toys rattling around the cars :p

I have a strange noise outside too. I think it is the gate that is attached to the house has come unlatched. It woke me up and I have been toying with the idea of going out and latching it. But meantime my bed is cosy and warm and outside windy and lashing with rain. Bed is definitely winning.
