I was wondering whether to set up an online ready meal service.
I have one main question left at the moment; Is it possible to get a good number of customers, quickly, without an online marketing campaign (I would think most online campaigns would unlikely reach target audience very quickly? Presumably the only way would be good old fashioned leaflets.
For this to be viable I would need some 100 orders per day, for something like a £40 box containing 10 home cooked, high quality dinners (no chemicals, additives etc).

Wasn't Mr G suggesting doing something similar in Aus - I wonder what his plan was to reach potential customers?I think....0 -

Some people set their awe bar terribly low.
:rotfl: That reminds me of the time, years ago, when 'awesome' first became the latest filler word, replacing 'right', 'that's good', 'that's great' etc. or even 'thank you'. However, I didn't realise that at the time.
I got a phone call from a young man about something or the other.....something legitimate, and he asked me for my first name, and when I told him, he replied 'that's awesome!'
I thought he meant that he really liked my name. I thought, what a very nice young man!
It was only sometime later that day, that it dawned on me that he was just using it as a filler word. :rotfl:
Oh well, for a couple of hours I had enjoyed thinking it was a compliment! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Can you cook?
I would think there would be demand from the elderly who would love a home cooked meal but either are getting frail or can't be bothered cooking for one. Mind you the meals would then need to be freezable if you are supplying 10.

My little niece was telling me how someone was going to be her BFF - best friend forever - for a week.
I questioned whether the 'forever' didn't mean longer than a week and she tutted - I should understand the difference between best friend forever and best friend forever-ever!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Those guys are doing frozen meals. How do they deliver them next day? There's no suggestion it's local delivery only.
Do they have a network of local stockists who do the delivery?
If you are going to do a leaflet campaign, you must be thinking of a local market. You are looking to sell 1000 meals a day, though. Isn't that quite a lot?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
This gas/ electric switching is meant to be straightforward!
Really been messed around this time. I now have an account manager on the case, who is supposedly going to watch the switch to make sure it happens. Taken 5 weeks already and so far only electricity has moved over.

Pastures, I read it as 1000 meals per day. 100 customers each ordering a box of 10 meals for £40. Sorry, £39.99.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I keep thinking I should switch - I have low gas and elec bills, around £500.00 p.a., so a saving would be small obviously. I think I might look around and then go to my current supplier and say that I can get it for so much less, but I don't really want to leave and see if there is any flex in their tarriffs that way.0 -

I know one thing - I'd not want to be the person in charge of nutritional values, allergies, allergy sheets, batch control and ingredient source audits.
You only need one person shouting "Died.... peanut allergy" and you're doomed.0
