I keep thinking I should switch - I have low gas and elec bills, around £500.00 p.a., so a saving would be small obviously. I think I might look around and then go to my current supplier and say that I can get it for so much less, but I don't really want to leave and see if there is any flex in their tarriffs that way.
Reportedly they don't do deals like that (though Sky & Virgin supposedly do), what you can do is move to your current supplier's cheapest tariff at the click of a button or one phone call.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I know one thing - I'd not want to be the person in charge of nutritional values, allergies, allergy sheets, batch control and ingredient source audits.
You only need one person shouting "Died.... peanut allergy" and you're doomed.
I'd be more worried about getting the customers in such a crowded market. It would be helpful to have a really good USP. For example, strictly vegetarian, with no meat ever on the premises. Or gluten free. Lots of people are looking at that even though not coeliac. Producing really good gluten free products seems to be a challenge- at least there's not much good stuff around.
I don't think home cooked or high quality are USPS. Every factory in the country claims to do home cooking, and nobody admits to low quality. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I know a couple of shops near family that do this sort of thing. One is a posh cafe that also supplies meals in containers to go. Another one just makes home cooked food and sells it in individual portions. Seems there are 2 markets, those that can't /won't cook but want home cooking and those that want to create a dinner party without any work.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think I'm on the lowest tarriff. Michaels will be spitting feathers - he knows what tarriff he's on, when he's switching and how to get added points by using a Nectar card and Topcashback:D
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, so I'll try a phone call.
Not today though. New puppy day tomorrow:j:j:j and I'm already over-excited:o0 -

I have no idea what I'm on, just that I pay £62 a month for gas/elec.
I think (hope) we'll be waking up tomorrow to a Conservative government with a majority of 2..........💙💛 💔0 -
You'd better hope the puppy's not - you'll be mopping up after it 24/7
:rotfl:
That'll be happening anyway. Fortunately she is 15 weeks already and partially housetrained, so I'm hoping that after a few days of confusion, she'll be OKish.
At the other end of the spectrum, I have an old dog on streroids and she wees for England, bless her.0 -

I am part way through switching and hopefully won't suffer SilverCar's fate, I have never had any trouble in the past.
With solar panels we have wide diveregence in summer and winter usage in both gas and lecy and I am now switching to a high standing charge, low unit cost tariff for the winter months with the cashback covering most of the early switchign fees for the old tariff. advantages are that although savings are less than 50 quid for the whole year there is a big saving over the next 6 months at which point if prices are still cheap I can switch again or alternaively if prices are higher I have another 6 months of fix to go rather than coing off my fix at the end of April.
I did look into switchign to an E7 tariff for winter months and a standard tariff for summer months but the maths doesn't quite stack up and I'm not sur whichever company switched us to an E7 meter would be too pleased....I think....0 -
As part of my phone/internet switch the best deal also involved getting a new mobile sim and today is port day and I left the new sim at home in an old phone
Can't win them all.

I switched to Ovo - really was simple and they seem still 'small' enough to care and be attuned to customer experience. This was a year ago0
