Years ago I did easyjet luton to Glasgow for the day for meetings - they have gradually over time made the short stay parking less convenient and more expensive
Today consists of getting DD1 ready for a 5 day trip to Normandy (any one know where we could get a beret for her to wear to the French themed disco?) and also hopefully getting DW to put some of the ten million grown out of clothes on ebay as there is a free listing, 75% off final value fees offer this weekend.I think....0 -
OH is taking Wellington to puppy class this afternoon.
I am going to pick up my new sunglasses.
DD is sorting stuff as she is allegedly moving in with her boyfriend next weekend. ( They had said she was going in the spring but she is still here).
The revised plans for our extension came yesterday so we will spend a bit of time considering those.
I will mostly be pottering about, sitting in the garden and maybe a little sleep.
Tomorrow DD and I are doing race for life 5K (I will walk, cannot run).0 -
For a time I was seconded to thepartment of Health based in Leeds. I would fly up from Southampton to Leeds Bradford. up Monday am back Weds pm. It was a small plane , like flying in a minibus with wings, served a horrible breakfast which included a rubbery omlette and squished tomato. I think the crew trod on both items before placing them in the polystyrene takeaway box and giving them to passengers.
The safety briefing was pointless unless the life jackets were intended to save us in the event of landing in the lake district.
The most annoying thing was getting to Leeds to be then sent (by 1st class rail) to Whitehall for meetings. Train breakfast was very good.0 -

I think it has.
I think a lot of what I had disappeared ... and I've not even got round to finding out why/when.... except I must've missed a bill or something that was buried in my email avalanche.
And it was a freeing experience that a lot went ... as I had too many.0 -
It rained for weeks/months.
One day it didn't rain ... so I cut the grass (overdue). I think that was 3 weeks ago.
Grass bl00dy grew again ... but it rained every day since.
This morning there was a yellow item in the sky, so I got the mower out (not really sure what came over me there!)
Cut the grass, took all the clippings to the tip, returned home.
Then it rained ... then it pelted down.
I bet the s0ddin' grass is eagerly growing again now!0 -

Breakfast?? On a short trip like that?
Even when I did Southampton-Edinburgh we'd hardly have had time for a meal - not that one was offered. The safety briefing was pointless unless the life jackets were intended to save us in the event of landing in the lake district.
Anyone remember the Hale & Pace flight safety briefing in a mock ad for the ficticious Yorkshire Airlines? If you don't, here you are.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm6VC5gdaFATaking off from Leeds International Airstrip and touching down twenty minutes later at Leeds International Airstrip, because - if it's outside Yorkshire it's not worth bloody visiting.0 -

That's guaranteed - you'd better do it again tomorrow :rotfl:0 -
GDB, Have you flown ever? Any opinion whether train or plane is preferable?
DS1 flew for a work trip from London City and said the journey was pleasant enough.
My son, who has just graduated from Edinburgh uni, has been commuting for the last four years. He usually takes the train. The flight is obviously much quicker, but the difference is quite small by the time you factor in transfer times, airport security, and so on.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
