NP may wish to vote on this. Better get in quickly, before the mods censor it!
It's the way MSE operates. Anything troublesome and they are take the line of least resistance.
A company complains and they pull the post, user reports another user and they PPR them.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Puddle Windermere!
Heathen - it's just Windermere, not Lake Windermere
There is only one Lake in the Lake District, Bassenthwaite Lake - all the others are Waters, Meres or Tarns, e.g. Windermere, Coniston Water, Yew Tree Tarn.
If anyone's interested, I've got a project to photograph them all - around 25 still to go IIRC;

Still, as to today's plans, I'm gradually shifting furniture around. Having been in the new place for a few months, I've decided to swap my den and my bedroom around since I don't really need the larger room as the bedroom so it'd be better utilised as the den.
Grand Prix qualifying highlights to watch tonight, whilst consuming some of the liver & bacon casserole that's currently bubbling away in the slow cooker.
In addition, I ought to make a start on better netting for the raspberries. I've chucked some nets over them for now to keep the birds off but I think some wooden frames lined with netting will make harvesting easier - just take a frame out, pick the fruit, then put the frame back.
It looks like I'll get a good crop too
That's on top of the strawberries which are also doing very nicely - picked a pound and a half this morning and I must have already had at least four pounds in the last ten days. Luckily I had friends staying over this week to help me eat them0 -

It would be Winderpuddle.
'Mere' is the description of the body of water.
Great name, Winderpuddle.Heathen - it's just Windermere, not Lake Windermere

Hehe, the classic geographic tautology.
There's a village in North Cumbria called Torpenhow, pronounced Trapenna in the Cumbrian dialect. Some people aren't satisfied with just a triple tautology in the name so call a nearby small rise Torpenhow Hill :rotfl:0 -
Hmm, plans for today included getting off my backside to do some gardening. Unfortunately it's just started drizzling so obviously that plan is a complete non-starter ... !!!
Might just have to have another cup of tea instead :beer:0 -
GDB, Have you flown ever? Any opinion whether train or plane is preferable?
DS1 flew for a work trip from London City and said the journey was pleasant enough.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Mind you, naming things isn't always very imaginative up here.
Near me there are two villages imaginatively named The Green and The Hill.
As I quickly found when I started my Lakes Project, the lack of imagination continues - we have three Blea Tarns, a Bleaberry Water and a Blea Water, two Red Tarns, two Angle Tarns, two Launchy Tarns and two Stickle Tarns.
The best named one I've been to yet was Dry Tarn - yep, it was bone dry0 -

So there's a historical precedent then?
