I am very fond of Martin Rowson's cartoons in The Grauniad, today's one is a real humdinger! I'm fighting my way through at least some of the comments, as there are some very perceptive posters alongside the various trolls.

There's a petition on the Parliament Petition site that is proving very popular, so much so that it crashed the website yesterday evening! Currently at 821,124 signatures.

Thanks a lot. I tried to sign the petition but it's not working. Edit- it did work eventually. The site seems v slow. There are 1.5m signatures.

Having had the referendum, we should negotiate to leave and then have a second referendum once we know what the terms are. That's why the first debate was so acrimonious. Nobody knows what we were really voting for.

I'm unfortunately looking rather seriously at this:

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Strange isn't it. Not something I ever thought we'd have to contemplate, but we'll be doing the same sort of thing, I'm certain. No one was persecuted here, and there's a poignance in your story. H is automatically entitled to be a Portuguese citizen and the rest of us follow. If one is entitled to, why not?

Oh dear, I posted a reply to someone on Facebook as they were saying nothing bad had happened and said about our credit rating. He posted back saying I was obviously a remainer, so I replied yes I was...

    His reply

"If the vote to remain had won, your children would be reading the Qur'an"

    I really despair..

!!!! for brains. Please delete him.

In the olden days people'd have been quietly annoyed at the result, then got on with their lives. Most will have barely mentioned it to anybody.

24/7 wall to wall media and TV coverage, interviews, Facebook, Twitter, people "drumming up support" and trouble .... means that some won't let it go. They need to learn that having a gazillion "likes" from your friends/neighbours on Facebook actually counts for diddly squat when you had your chance and didn't get what you wanted.

I am entitled to Irish citizenship, will seriously consider if we want to do this.

I'm British ... I won't be trying to get any additional/other/different passports. Can't even think of a reason why I might wish to do that. I've only got it for ID.

Odd angry blonde woman has been speaking like a drunk on the BBC... she's on the table with a blue jacket on.

Bitter, angry, doesn't know when to let go. Really showing herself up.

Looks like the sort of person nobody'd ever want to work with, or be on a committee with. I bet the ladies at the local flower club hate it when she turns up (looks the sort for the WI/flower club).

EDIT: Anna Soubry I've discovered it is.... took me this long (7+ hours).

Ha, I thought it was probably her when I read your description! I can't stand her  She was on BBC when I switched it on yesterday morning, and I had to change channels after a few minutes because I couldn't bear to watch her or listen to her any longer!

Technically I'm a boomer by 6 months, though singularly lacking in all the things boomers are supposed to have had. I'm not a bigot. people voted out for many reasons, bigotry and racism may have featured for some, it didn't for me.:(

I'm not Boris either, who I think is a muppet.

Totally agree with all of this!

ETA I did Thank Spirit's post though, because we are all entitled to our opinions. Bigotry and racism played no part in my vote either.

So I went on the indesit website, found the right part for my dishwasher and ordered it from elsewhere as it was £15 cheaper.

Went to fit it today and discovered it doesn't fir. Phoned indesit who confirmed there were two versions of the part even though it doesn't mention it on their website, they refuse to give out the part number but I can order the correct one from them for £60 - £25 more than the other wrong part.

    Two anoyances imho:
That the website makes no mention of the possibility that the part it claims is the correct one might not be
That they deliberately try and make it impossible for you to find out what the correct part is so that you can only order it direct from them at inflated prices.

Don't forget the only reason I am ordering the part in the first place is that it has only lasted 22 months on a new machine
    I think....
