That strange beetle thing I had the other night. Found another one... resting under my fence. He was sitting there for 4-5 hours, then not.... maybe he's sitting the other side of the fence, not interested enough to look.
Tomorrow came today .... lawn cut. Although I did "skimp" and shoved the bag in the shed, promising myself I'll take it to the tip tomorrow ... and that HAS to happen as damp grass in a black plastic bag could get VERY nasty if left to rot in a shed.0 -
What a lovely thing to do.
The libretto beforehand, to understand the plot and characters.
Possibly surtitles, (again to help understanding)
A conventional production rather than one in a contemporary/innovative setting
An opera with at least one well known aria. Recognising some of the music helps make it feel like you belong there.
Not too long/too dark/German
An iconic destination -SOH?
bubbles to drink- prosecco if italian opera
supper at venue or simple picnic if possible before or in interval- prosciutto olives artichokes salami cheese bread
If you need anyone to carry the bags I will make myself available
I recently took some friends to a 'Night at the Opera' at our local theatre in the wastelands of Runcorn. It was a sort of best of arias.
I really like opera, they had never been to one and I was a little nervous if they would enjoy it. Fortunately they absolutely loved it and want to see one now:D. It certainly helped having a best of and we were lucky to have singers from the English National Opera, so absolutley top quality singers.

How terribly sad.
One child dies in train crash. Pretty rare at the best of times.
One child dies in a senseless war. Cannon fodder.
One child may have died in an epidemic, probably spread by the mass movement of people at the end of said senseless war.
Jeez. No wonder the mother died at a relatively young age.
The father must have wondered what he'd done to deserve all that.
Puts things in perspective a bit.(I just lurve spiders!)

One of the other dead in the train wreck was "a posh boy". Looked (briefly) at him and his parents had already lost his brother. After his death his dad set up a special fund to fund people to assist Jews somewhere and a sister married a chap that was awarded that fund - and he died a year after he'd married.
So that was: two sons and one son-in-law down!
When you read old papers you see lots of suicides.... apart from the fact there were no benefits so you had proper money worries, with everything else you piece together in trees it's not surprising so many get so melancholy!
Yes, infant mortality, and all mortality rates, come to that, before antibiotics, were horrendous.(I just lurve spiders!)
