Well to buck the trend, we had a lovely day in Norwich, it was warm and sunny (with occasional clouding over) and none of the forecasted rain during the day. Youngest carried on doing his grown up thing and purchased his own shoes although he still looked at me for guidance/answer whenever the shop assistant asked him a question and of course, I still had to go to the till with him, wheelchair and all in a pretty tight area of the shop!
To end the day, we went to the cinema to see X men, as I had the wheelchair we took up their offer of a free ticket for the 'carer' and upgraded to the gallery (posh seats, personalised service and complimentary drinks and food)....it actually worked out cheaper than if we had gone for a normal wheelchair space plus carer and bought just one drink each, plus I didn't have to sit with my neck craning upwards all night as that particular showing had the wheelchair spaces right at the front (I prefer to be at the back or at the very least, have my eyes level with the screen as my neck is also beggered)
Now completely shattered and only a week to recover until we (me, James, Josh) go to London next weekend for a gig at the O2.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Talking of television licences, if anyone is still in any doubt whatsoever as to whether the licence fee is worth the money, they only have to watch the BBC Two screening of Richard III (last night).
My God, there aren't enough superlatives to describe this production! The calibre of the acting, the production, the direction, the scenery and the settings, the costumes, the brooding background music!
I have never seen this play performed before. It was absolutely superb. (In fact, I have seen very few Shakespeare plays performed. We did some at school, of course, and I saw some at Stratford on Avon on school trips, and a couple made as films. I am very glad I have recorded the recent screenings of Henry VI, which I will watch another time.)
Well done BBC! :T
You've surpassed yourself!
(On another thread, we were talking about booking fees for theatre tickets, and someone commented that £60 for a London theatre ticket is a very conservative amount. So let's say £70.
So, for the price of two tickets to one WestEnd show, you can have 365 days of viewing TV.
In my view, watching that one production of Richard III was worth the whole year's licence fee!)(I just lurve spiders!)

You can keep double cream in the freezer.
I prefer Crème Fraiche. It has that touch of sharpness which offsets the sweetness of puddings etc. Don't think you can freeze that, though.(I just lurve spiders!)

I Noticed on one of the two taxes most people pay here the TV licence is included, I wondered how we paid it..136 euros. We have just filled in our 1st tax return so once that has been excepted we shall not have to pay one of the taxes including the TV licence next year for being over 60....
Beaut of a day yesterday around 25degress.... until around 21.00 and the wind suddenly appeared out of the blue and then the rain seconds after...Did not expect that, there was a few things around the garden in new places.
It raining now and our chickens are the only ones out in it..they are tough little hens...they have lots of places of shelter though.

Students don't buy TV licences. They don't watch live TV. When they do watch programmes they stream on their laptops.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thanks to Andrew Marr, have just heard of another new website that I hadn't come across before. Aim is to present economic news from a pro market perspective.
I shall add this to my bookmarks alongside the excellent "The Atlantic", this website is called CapX.
Thought I'd mention in case anyone interested:

If you can't get dream topping, could you make do with whipped cream?
I can't get over how cosmopolitan everybody is these days. "conchiglietti" - I'd never heard of them, but they seem to be little pasta shells. Is that right?
It's funny. The supermarkets fill their shelves with this stuff basically as a way to get you to buy ready meals.0 -

Capx looks like a news aggregator to me. Looks like a good news aggregator though.0
