Not coming to work for you then. So there.0 -
Liquid soap all the way.
There's nothing worse than picking up a bar of soap with cold foam and some pubic hairs on it.
On the other hand ... the liquid soap bottle might be covered in germs.
Give the soap bar a rinse, and the top layer of soap dissolves and you have a completely fresh layer of soap that has not been in contact with anything. Far more hygienic. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
That programme .... What to Buy and Why (BBC2) .... they compared three coffee makers. Two were about £150-250 apiece and looked like the sort you'd get in a shop. The other one was some plastic tube thing, £25.
The testers AND the coffee expert all agreed that the £25 one out-performed both the expensive machines. Expert said that a lot of coffee machines simply don't do the job at all well, leaving coffee tasting nasty. I think the expert hinted that unless you ARE a professional, you're better off leaving coffee-making to the professionals, rather than trying to find a machine that does it at home (or just buy the £25 gizmo).0 -
We have a small cafetiere for ground coffee - I'm the only one who uses it - and instant coffees we like the taste of (Kenco Rich or Carte Noir).
We stock up when one or the other instant coffee is on special offer.0 -

I drink instant coffee during the week (function over enjoyment), and dust off the cafetiere at weekends.
We recently got a tea and coffee machine at work, however the 'coffee' that comes out of it is terrible. So bad that I'm sticking with the instant stuff that is also provided at work. I didn't think there was anything worse than that but apparently someone both identified AND procured it.
I have no interest in spending £££ per cup using pods at home and generating excess packaging waste.
Edit: and as per the comment above re razors, I got an epilator for £10 a few years ago and haven't looked back since. Goodness knows how many times it's paid for itself by now, even for someone who doesn't make the most effort in the world!0 -

Admitted he's stumped .... but feels sure he'll think of something at some point, so will email me when he has a suggestion.
Nice to know it's not just me then!
Exciting stuff, PN. Well done for getting someone round.
Think I need to get someone to look at my house/ talk through my ideas. I also need to get an idea of how much it might cost so I know what I'm aiming for savings-wise. Though I already know my bathroom and kitchen need replacing so some of the expense is already on my radar.0 -
