I think you have some work to do on phrasing PN old thing.:)0 -
DD and I are going to Dublin for an overnight stay. We will be there for Mothering Sunday. my family is a Dublin family on both sides. Nostalgia or create new memories?

DD has been to Dublin a couple of times before.
I've been a couple of times, for work. My memories are the shot-up post office building and traffic jams.
I missed my flight because of the traffic, or not allowing enough time, or some combination...No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I have never been to Dublin. Or Belfast for that matter.
I have ancestors from near Derry, and family there who I should keep track of. PN puts me to shame. I'm not sure I could name all my (first) cousins. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
I haven't been to Dublin. We once booked flights and a hotel, but couldn't be bothered. We had a flat we'd renovated in London at the time. We drove there instead.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Not sure I know exactly how many first cousins I have, about 11? plus some half first cousins. Definitely don't know all the names. I would sort of have academic interest if some one else had done a family tree in a look at it once way but certainly don't care enough to do any research myself.I think....0

My mum was one of 9 and all bar one of them produced multiple children, think my mum produced the least with 3, one uncle alone produced 9.
My dad was one of 6, they were a little less productive but again all bar one produced children (stricly speaking two but the other one adopted 2 children).
I have cousins who are almost the same age as my mum as she was second youngest and was just a toddler when the second eldest started having children, the eldest one being the one not to have children.
I have lots and lots of cousins. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I have 3+3+2 =8 first cousins (grouped by family), between them they have produced 13+3+4=20 kids ie first cousins once removed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Blimey, I dare not go into first cousins once removed (or 2nd cousins as we call them in our family), or the next generation after that.
A note was taken of how many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren my nan had back in about 1990 ish and it numbered over 120 then...many more children have been born since then.
Some of my cousins are great grandparents already, their grandchildren are similar ages to my boys!We made it! I have a family sapling, Mrs Generali has a family forest by comparison.
So Old Ma Generali is back in town with BF. They came to 'hang out' at our place today which was nice. He likes a good anecdote, and to be fair he is happy to listen as well as to tell. I understand a lot more about about the industry he retired from a decade ago which is good. Actually I have a load more questions to ask. I found out about the engineering side today, tomorrow I want to understand the finances. What makes it tick?0
