Looks as though I fail Michaels' test on both counts: Nespresso machine and liquid soap! :p
Nespresso will take back the capsules for recycling.
Hell will freeze over before I surrender either the soap or the coffee machine. :D
    Decaff capsules are also available.

That programme .... What to Buy and Why (BBC2) .... they compared three coffee makers. Two were about £150-250 apiece and looked like the sort you'd get in a shop. The other one was some plastic tube thing, £25.

The testers AND the coffee expert all agreed that the £25 one out-performed both the expensive machines. Expert said that a lot of coffee machines simply don't do the job at all well, leaving coffee tasting nasty. I think the expert hinted that unless you ARE a professional, you're better off leaving coffee-making to the professionals, rather than trying to find a machine that does it at home (or just buy the £25 gizmo).

My Aeropress is the £25 plastc tube thing.

I gave up caffeine 15 months ago, along with most of my anxiety.

    Bar soap makes me shudder.

The worst is some of this Lush soap.

There is some black 'slab' stuff in the ensuite. I don't know whether to wash with it or eat it - it certainly smells edible!

I have to admit we have liquid soap in the toilets (own brand discount) and only use bar soap in the bath where we each have our own bar.
    I think....

The Kab rabble and Lottie dog are just back from the Lakes. We stayed in Anvil cottage, opposite Beatrix Potter's old residence (I did knock on, but she weren't in ;) )

When you visit one of the tourist villages like Bowness you can really see the future. Coaches full of Chinese tourists. Perhaps the UK is their latest trinket?

I'm not sure we maximise the tourist potential. We could probably invest more and reap it all back by giving these tourists a world class experience. The Chinese tourists deserve value; it must cost a small fortune to trek over here.

About forty years ago my mum had her brother over from Germany
and went to a specialist shop for coffee beans to grind and then percolate. For a few days I did the grinding and percolating faithfully until I was in a hurry and put nes***e granules and hot water in the percolater.

For the first time my uncle said "This coffee is lovely, what kind of bean is it?" Mum was not pleased with me.

She was even less pleased when she was wondering what to make while they were watching a football match on telly and I suggested a pie and a pint. I nipped out and got a few cans and some scotch pies with tinned peas and he and my cousin loved it.They even asked if I had baked it!

I have a cafetiere and a manual grinder for when I want to make an effort and Dou*** Eg***** for the rest of the time.

Once I get moved I might consider an aeropress .

Not as bad as caffeine-free diet coke. Fizzy brown water anyone?
