Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

None of those available in my size.
Don't have any boots - too hot and cost more.
Crocs for me all the way. Comfort and breathability. I don't have spare money to spend on shoes! I do have some smarter shoes if needed but that's not very often.
Frankly I don't care what anyone else thinks - I look at an awful lot of people and wonder why on earth they are wearing what they have on their feet though! Especially ones who can't walk properly in them.

Maggie I've signed:) Good luck with it!

viva I really like those Rieker sandals, but they probably wouldn't do for me as they don't seem to be adjustable.

I have a pair of Merrells for walking/sightseeing. Not as pretty as the Riekers though.

CKhalvashi Sorry to hear you're ill :(

Had a bit of a spring clean at GDB Towers old chap...?

First match of the football season today so I took The Boy along. It's at my favourite ground, close to my house and does an excellent sausage sizzle too. Unfortunately the ref didn't turn up so I was pressed into action. Everyone was very pleased that I had agreed to ref the game until I had to make some actual decisions. From the comments that were made all I can guess is either:

    1. The Laws of the Game have changed and FIFA has kept it secret
    or
    2. Coaches and players still don't know the offside and handball Laws

My money is on the latter. Still it was quite a laugh.

Then off to meet the in-Laws for lunch at a buffet for The Boy's birthday. Blugh. It was horrible. Still it meant I didn't stuff my face too badly. Then over to M/F-iL's place for cake. FiL decided that while waiting for cake would be a great time to do so manual work in the garden and spiked his leg quite badly. Claret everywhere so we patched him up, ate cake and he was taken off to A&E.

The Boy is off at a party at his mate's GF's house this evening (they're bloody 11!). Mate's GF emails The Boy 10 times a day and sends him loads of photos of herself. I think this may not end well.

I have always had trouble getting shoes that did not hurt my feet until DH a few years ago suggested H*tters as he had heard someone's wife raving about them.

I did not want to pay the rrp just to find they were unable to be worn so got DH to drive me to an outlet which were also having a sale. I got a pair for about £30 and ended up wearing them till they fell apart. I am now wearing a black pair which on their last legs (excuse the pun) and have about three pairs in my wardrobe ready. A pair of red loafers, grey suede low heels, cream low heels and a pair of grey patent loafers. All bought in an online sale so I don;t feel guilty spending the money on me.

I have finally moved into a chalet bungalow on my own a month ago and it is a real project bringing the downstairs part screaming and kicking from the eighties! So far I have knocked two bedrooms into one, demolished the fitted wardrobe and replaced it, had the walls plastered and new lighting put up. The living room has had the huge fireplace and hearth knocked out and a new modern fire put in , has been replastered and had new modern lights put in - painting and new carpets needed but already looking bigger and brighter. The bathroom needs gutting with a walk in shower, nice towel rail and modern white loo and basin etc. Last step is a nice properly working unbodged kitchen - phew. Glad I found a good builder that I trust and he will help me source things.

Relative is coming for lunch next week and everything is still in boxes

DD2s season continues, today's match was miles away and only 5 of the required 6 a side turned up whereas the opposition seemed to have 11! AS all players needed to play at least 1 half, in the first half DDs team were 5 against 6 - it did not go well (1-9). Second half 5 against 5 was all square 2-2 although obviously DD and her team were pretty knackered having played all the way through, man down first half.
    I think....

11 yr old boys have low tolerance levels. I predict it will end quickly. At which point GF will declare she wants a maturer BF and find a 13 yr old.

CKhalvashi, wish you better. Is there a link between feeling ill and being tired?
