Has any NP worn pyjamas out walking in public?

In the past I have shuffled our cars around on the drive whilst wearing my dressing gown.

    Never. Never have, never would.

I have just seen a news item on News at 10, about combining public budgets to improve services in Greater Manchester, One of the videos pictured two young children on bikes. A woman was walking down the street, wearing pyjamas a cardigan and flip flops.

I have to put the bins out and maybe as a Rag Week thing. Maybe to drop Mrs Generali off at the station in the car.

You quite often see people at the supermarket in pjs over here. I think they look ridiculous, seriously, you are so lazy you can't even dress?

Yes, that might work, Spirit (the RADAR key).

What do you think, Maggie? We hated having to tell people who were elderly or unwell, or who were there with children, that there was no toilet available. It would be ok if the security guard could unlock the door to allow them to use it if they didn't have a RADAR key of their own. The snag is that the security guard might not be in the waiting area at the salient moment!

I'll certainly sign the petition when possible :)

Sue When my sister-in-law was a child she would nearly drive her mother mad when they were out because she wanted to go to the loo so often. In the end her mother took her to the GP "to show you that there's nothing wrong with you and you're just being awkward!" Further investigations proved she actually had an unusually small bladder. So, it was still a nuisance, but at least her mother knew it was no use moaning at her :D

Loanranger So sorry you need surgery :( If it would make a big improvement to your life, I hope you'll be able to psych yourself up to it when the time's right.

What a lavatorial post this was

Never worn jimjams outdoors, nor my nightie!
Nor flip flops either, can't bear the feel of that piece of plastic between my toes but that really puts me in a minority.
I have worn my nightie out, only to move my car on the drive.
I can't bear the plastic between my toes either. Quite happy to be in a minority there.

Another confirmed flip-flop (or thongs as they call them in Aus) hater. Never have liked them. Much prefer sandals; no socks obviously.

I used to wear flip flops as a kid. They can be hell to wear, with that bit between the toes really rubbing your toes raw until you get used to it.

After a bit the hole splits and when you're running that bit comes out of the flip flop and you end up running down the road with a broken flip flop on your foot for a few steps until you can stop.

When they get a bit more worn you start trying to use sellotape on that hole to stop that bit coming out of the hole.

Then, by the end of the summer, the flip flops have worn right down at the heel.

They are cheap/easy to wear for kids though. They were part of "what we did" at summer, especially on holiday on the beach etc.

Can't say I am a fan of flip-flops but the alternative is the croc, which is probably an arrestable offence for the fashion police.

I tend towards this sort of thing:

Comfy to wear, give you reasonable protection from the stuff on the ground, quick to take on and off. As you can imagine in Aus you tend to live in summer shoes outside of work for about 10 months a year and so these hit the mark. I normally have 2-3 pairs on the go and buy a new pair perhaps every 6 or 7 years which is pretty good. I'll normally get them from the Factory Outlet place up the road so pay £20-30/pair. Given the wear I get out of them I doubt I'm paying much more than I would for flip flops.

I am in theory in favour but in reality find they always rub your feet raw and have even ended up wearing socks with such attire because the blisters were too painful. This was a double win because it also meant no one was willing to go out with me dressed like that saving the costs of holiday trips out.

They look like what'd be left if you illegally imported tortoises, then removed their shells to use in decorative items and didn't want to waste the body part :)
