    Hi ivyleaf

It is not so much that it is going well as that we are finding a lot of stuff he did "his way" a la Frank Sinatra without the style.

His way is not one that professional builders, plasterers, electricians. plumbers or indeed anyone with working brain cells between their ears recognises

I console myself that at least we are finding things and putting them right.

The vendor seemed to have a hobby of suing other neighbours and watching the cctv cameras he had put in. He will be coming over from abroad in a few weeks to catch the fish in the two built up fish ponds he had put in (nets are in the shed!)

I am beginning to understand why he did not want a "for sale" board or a "sold " board outside. His wife is lovely btw.

CKhalvashi, wish you better. Is there a link between feeling ill and being tired?

Not usually, but having absolutely no immune system (taking a transplant drug, but not for a transplant) paired with going from lates, onto earlies for 2 days and back onto lates last week has probably not helped with tiredness.

Probably sounds a bit weird, but I'm genuinely worried about someones safety. If there's no luck, I have another lead to follow, but in the meantime it's driving me up the wall :)

Maggie I've signed:) Good luck with it!

Thank you ivyleaf! :T :A

I've been Tweeting away most of the day trying to get re-tweets. I've had a surprising number, and there's been some interesting discussion too. One disabled activist has pointed out it's a human rights issue. Then there's the fact that more older people are going to Jobcentres now pension age rising, and also the disabled in WRAG ESA group who are all more likely to need loo urgently. And DWP want some folks in all day  so it really is awful to expect folks to not have anywhere to "go".

If you're interested there was a FOI request put in, reply here.

Sorry you're feeling carp, and also that you have worries. Sending Strengthening Vibes and hopes you can get a decent restful rest soon. :)

Going back to the shoe conversation, can't do flip flops as not co-ordinated enough, it'd be asking for a broken leg for me! :o;) Have one pair of bright pink Crocs, I love them, they're getting a bit worn now, so may have to look for another pair soon. I've got a ridiculous number of shoes now though - after years of only ever having one pair (and having to wear sandals in January when pregnant when my feet swole up and couldn't afford new shoes) I've gone a bit mad of recent years. Though I do nearly always buy in the sales! I'm a bit hooked on H by Hudson shoes, and I know their shoes fit me - have wide feet so can be difficult to find stuff to fit, especially as mostly buy online now!

Just checked and have 329 sigs! :j

I'd expect all-dayers to have access to the staff loos as they'd be behind the security doors. So, all-dayers won't have the problem.

It's the great unwashed in the front office that are without a facility.

not a great immune system so you would be very liable to infections at the very least so hoping you know what supplements you can take to help that issue....i was put in a coma for a few days many years ago now to save my life basically and they told me my immune system was being rebuilt..never understood that at all..how does that possible workout.. but I guess it all turned out fine eventually as a new person came out from that experience that was not the same person that went into it... life is a real learning curve never know where its going to take you;)

I've just been in Inner Herts (travelled from Stansted to north London). Can't say what Stansted's selling point as an airport is. The UK arrivals is about the size of a broom cupboard with about the same facilities.

There seems to be no easy way of dropping anybody off without forking out dosh, everything is miles apart and yet toilets are hard to find.

Having said that, as you drive along the M11 towards London you actually see its skyline below you which is quite a sight.

It's a good airport to fly from and right on the doorstep. Ryanair are huge there. It's also easier to get into central London than Gatwick IMO (Stansted Express)

Bit of history on Stansted as an airport here.

That's a really nice small relaxing airport. Heathrow's only nice to arrive in, but too hectic for taking off from.

Gatwick's about as convenient to get to for us and not too bad to fly from. We din't expect airports to have character but they should try to offer facilities. Presumably the airside of Stansted has all the good stuff. The groundside hasn't much going for it.

Landside isn't that bad (although I literally turn up and go straight through security). Airside has a lot there, and there are (I believe) 2 new lounges.

The new Sat 1 carpet really irritates me though.

My shoe collection, listed, seems quite extravagent/large, until you analyse what it is, where it's from and why.

Crocs: Assorted colours, bought for £5 a pair - expected to last for years. Easy to wear everywhere, daily.
Work shoes: Simple court shoes, leather. I've got two brand new pairs, which I miraculously picked up at a charity shop for £4/pair. They're on the rack "in case I ever need smart shoes"
Similar to work shoes: Small/smart shoes to wear out to "proper places" if I ever have to wear "work smart" shoes. Collected/bought over the last 20 years, cheaply. Probably got 4 pairs.
Wellies: Got bought an ankle boot pair. I hope they last years.
Mules: 4 pairs. 2 pairs bought cheap (£2) at charity shop, white/leather slip on with 4" heels. A copper pair, from charity shop, £2. An expensive pair bought in an outlet shop in 2006 as I do like mules, worn once for 1 hour at a wedding. New/retail value of those was £100, I paid £40. Too expensive to wear anywhere really! I'll probably end up selling those on ebay in 10 years' time when I finally realise I don't have the legs/life for such extravagence

    My shoe collection

One pair of every day flats, purchased for £12 2 years ago and worn pretty much every day.

One pair of smart heels (£15) for interviews/going out, new last year after replacing the previous pair which had lasted for 10 years.

One pair of Sketchers fit flop like things, 2 years old and purchased for £25
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Had a bit of a spring clean at GDB Towers old chap...?

Went to see my DD graduate. I thought the pictures of the room were amusing, with all the risque paintings on the doors. And another door was cut on a slant, but even so there's been enough subsidence since then for nearly two inches of clear space under one side.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
