It must take a while to write it out, too.
DW and I have a hand-written marriage contract (called a Ketubah), which we had to go to a scribe to get drawn up.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I don't think you even need a deed poll. If you call yourself something different in this country, that's your new name. However, the natty piece of paper is useful for dealing with officialdom.
I accidentally slipped through the net. I've got a passport in my "fake" name, just because I wrote that name on the passport application ... there's not much difference, just one letter different to what my actual birth certificate says... but it didn't get noticed.0 -
The name on my birth certificate is spelt differently to the name on my passport, which is spelt differently to the name on my driving licence.
I think they are only interested that it sounds the same. No-body ever notices and I don't point it out. It would cause a world of pain if anyone official noticed.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Tribunal! We won! Top rate for both Daily Living and Moving Around! :j I keep burbling "I don't believe it" - still don't. Even after reading the Tribunal Decision Notice several times! :rotfl: So very glad that my advocate Cat from Fightback for Justice was able to attend with me - she was a real calming presence while we were waiting to go in, and knowing she was beside me was an immense help. :T
I also think her questions to me at the end were helpful in clarifying some of the stuff from the original assessment (eg I gave one of my hobbies as gardening... While this is true, it does give the impression of fitness to dig etc. So we were able to tell Tribunal my role was as designer and plant chooser, that OH did the planting to my instructions while I sat in a comfy chair and pointed :rotfl:)
Now just have to wait and see if DWP try and take it to a higher Tribunal before I can really celebrate. Have been advised to chase up DWP in a couple of weeks to make sure the Decision has arrived.
Such a relief to have this over!Though suspect it'll take a few days before it really sinks in.

Fantastic news Maggie. What a huge relief. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Brilliant news Maggie! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Indeed. He needs it to get the new name on his exam certificates. And his driving licence - which he'll be old enough for in the autumn. The name on my birth certificate is spelt differently to the name on my passport, which is spelt differently to the name on my driving licence.

In a few hundred years time somebody will be researching your bit of their family tree and get very confused!ukmaggie45 wrote: »We won! ...So very glad that my advocate Cat from Fightback for Justice was able to attend with me ...
So very pleased for you. Do something special to celebrate! Cat sounds great - so glad she did such a great job for you. :j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::T:T:TDo you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Hi. Got back Saturday but have been very tired/very busy since. Got two competitions coming up very soon and other stuff to do.
Wasn't on that diverted flight.I didn't hear any more about what that suspicious conversation was, that was overheard, did you? Or about the bag that was blown up. Was it a serious threat or just people being stupid?
No, my flight was only slightly delayed due to Gatwick flight control or something.(I just lurve spiders!)

Fantastic news on your success Maggie. The DWP and unlikely to appeal to a higher tribunal, they usually let the decision stand. However, what they are renowned for doing is moving you straight into the same cycle again. This will very much depend on the award.
Did the tribunal make a decision that covered a historical period and a bit forward? I mean for example, was this covering a period from June 2015 for 2 years, or anything like that?
You will know what they are like. You could easily find yourself at the end of the 2 years next week and have to start all over again.
I hope I am mistaken in my understanding and this is a life award. Either way, enjoy your good news and success. They are so hard, not thinking about the people at the end of this process, only about how much money they can save by not paying it out in the first place.Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.
