That sounds excellent, Lydia
My DD2 works 4 days doing 8-6 rather than 5 days doing 9-5, so she has Fridays off and it works very well for her and her family. It also means she doesn't have o do grocery shopping on a Saturday!
I hope you've had a lovely time Pyxis0 -
I work shift patterns too, having time off in the week in exchange for working some Saturdays. It feels a real treat to work a couple of days then have a day off, and barely notice the longer working day. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Most of the time this just meant people were able to go to appointments, or have an extended lunch if it were somebody's birthday and to slide off early on Fridays if it was hot. But I used to mostly take Fridays off. I used to go in on Sunday afternoons though, as I had 2 hours of printing that needed to be done and on the Manager's chair by 9.30am Monday morning, so it worked better to achieve that.
Working 4 days/week means it feels like a holiday EVERY weekend!
I have been having Wednesdays off since April. Weirdly now just doing each 2 day stretch (Mon-Tue, Thur-Fri) seems like just a much of a stretch as doing 5 days did before and I am still always thinking just x days to go till my next day off....I think....0 -

I spotted him at noon, when I put my washing bag down in the garden.
He was staggering away very slowly.
2½ hours later I remembered him and wondered if he was still there/how far he'd got - and he was there, he'd got about 12' away.

In teaching, less than half the job is the bit in the classroom, which obviously has no flexibility about time, and the rest is all the other stuff, which you can do whenever you like as long as you get it done in time. At my school, full-timers are entitled to 2hrs of "off site" time in the week, when they're not just not teaching, but don't have to be there. This is when they fit in their dentist appointments and so on. Part-timers like me have to be "on site" pro rata, so at the beginning of the school year we are told how many "off site" periods the formula says we can have, and we say which ones we want those to be, and it's entered on the timetable database. Many of us (including me) actually end up being in school a lot longer than we're officially "on site", because it's more convenient to work at work than to take work home, but it's nice to have the flexibility.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Are you back?
Not sure where from, but are you back from wherever?

Well, George is now referring to Theresa as ' a dead woman walking', whilst Boris says it's 'tripe' that he's thinking of standing for her job. I know which one is telling the truth. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Umm I can't remember if I mentioned this before, but my Tribunal is tomorrow (Monday) at 2.45. An advocate from Fightback will be attending with me and DH. :j
I'm dreading it as am completely deaf in R ear with tinnitus and gloopy noises and not 100% hearing in L ear, so I'm now quite shoutyas I can't hear meself proper! _pale_ Guessing the best thing to do will be tell the Clerk of the Court so she can tell Tribunal - I don't want to come over as aggressive because of shouting!
Anyway, any prayers, vibes or luck wishes gratefully received!
PS today's our 46th Wedding Anniversary.0 -
I don't think I'd rely on the clerk. I'd just tell the tribunal, or get your advocate to.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
