    I'm a little bit tired now. I stayed up until 4am :o

I've been looking around and doing quite a bit of diamond shopping and comparing. We chose and bought a full replacement ring for the whole last week. I'm very happy with my new shiny thing and I'm happy that it's at least presently ethical too - I decided to go for vintage and chose an Edwardian ring.

We've also decided to renew our vows, probably on our anniversary next year. :)

Yep, apparently the stone came out of an old ring that someone had picked up for a tenner at a car boot sale and worn every day thinking it was costume jewellery.....
    I think....

Sounds lovely. Glad you've found something you're happy with. :)

I stayed up until 4ish too. Perfect timing - this week was the first week of my newly rearranged working hours with Friday off!

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Sounds a good result; your working hours as opposed to the election.

Yes definitely. I picked up an extra class back in October when somebody else went on mat leave, but to teach them I had to come in on Fridays, and have my ~55% FTE spread over 4 days. Now that class have gone on exam leave and won't be coming back. We're supposed to spend the time we gain from classes going on exam leave doing useful stuff for the department and preparing for next year, and I've certainly got plenty of that to do, but I put the case that I could just as easily do that earlier in the week by working a whole day instead of being free to go at lunchtime on one of my other days, and then not come in on Fridays at all, and they agreed. :)
