Ah, got you, the BCS3 to regular conversion. Yes, that's on the list ...I'll be taking out a wall/door, moving the entire fuse box, moving a radiator, sealing up a ceiling vent (ex-loo), removing two more mini-walls, doing something with a window ...and other stuff, so it's on the list of things to be done when there's a leccy about.0 -
It's nice outside, but when I step out there all I can hear is two loud scousers aged about 22 brickying away and discussing Benidorm, Gran Canaria, deals on Ice Lolly .... and the birds they pulled last time0

If these are pendants, any competent handyperson can do the BSC3 conversion job. A few minutes per pendant. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I can wait ....dunno how long it takes to get plans, get pp, find somebody to do all the stuff, then wave them goodbye ... but I've been sitting without any lights for 3 years, I think I can go another 8-12 months
I don't need lights .... you can't see by them these days anyway.... so I've never bothered. I potter about in the dark, unless I specifically DO need to see. I know where walls/doors/things are and I can get where I want in the dark OK.
If I actually had bulbs .... I'd need to think about lampshades!0 -

Best thing would be to replace with oval knobs that are still relatively easy to grip.
If it's dire, then move the handles and fill the holes left in the exisitng door.
Ah OK, I get mine done free by my family. Bad news today.
This morning John came up with brown envelope, and said "I think I need to get my diary out" - it was a letter from the Tribunal Service.
When I opened it up it told me that my Tribunal happened yesterday and I lost my Appeal. They waited 15 minutes for me to arrive, and then went ahead with the paper based .
I didn't get anything from them telling me about the date and time of my Tribunal.
John phoned Tribunal Service they said letter sent out on 27th March. If we want to pursue this we have to ask for the result to be Set Aside and we have a month to do that in.
For f*cks sake, I'm now 68, they didn't send me notification of my Tribunal date and time, the woman who did my original face to face lied through her teeth and twisted my words, and now I've not had my day in court to show how DWP and their agents lied like hell about what I said. It'll prob take another 6 months to get a new Tribunal date, even if they allow my complaint and Set Aside their decision.
I think this is cruel and unusual punishment or whatever.
I want to SCREAM.
I'm hitting the Gin!0 -
Maggie, is there an ombudsman or anyone you can complain to?
I am so sad that has happened to you. I agree. I am not just sad but angry.
You need somebody official to complain to. You also need some kind of advocate who knows the system and can stand up for you. Is there any possibility of getting help from anywhere? The CAB? Or a charity that supports people with disabilities, or older people, or something?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
My diamond's gone from my engagement ring
I just got undressed and the now empty claw caught on my clothes. I've checked around the floor here but I think it must have gone earlier as I don't think the clothing would have caught when the diamond was knocked out.
Is it insured in house contents, do you think? I've read the policy, it isn't valuable enough to be a separate item.
I don't know what category a bit of it going missing would come under?! It's not exactly wear and tear, nor does it seem to be an accidental thing. And I don't know if it's in the house or outside, I've been in and out and all sorts of places this afternoon/evening.
I can't even see now how it would have gotten out.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I think that the best thing you can do is talk to your Insurance Company. They're not all complete plonkers and nasty. Some are helpful. Questions are over fraud stuff. Which is understandable in this day and age.But I'm sure you can tell them how it is and get some help.
Big hugs dear Doozergirl - horrid loss for you. I really think you should get some help from your insurance. Good luck.0
