    Can somebody now change the subject.... this was about people with short legs being slightly inconvenienced sufficiently that they've noticed but won't get round to doing anything about it .... not what it's morphed into!

    I VERY specifically referred to footstools, in an attempt to not use the word stool :)

    It's sometimes difficult holding this bar up alone!

    Seriously, though, Pastures, you asked for a proper fitted step surround, which is exactly what the item I showed you is!

    I expect the price is a turn-off, but then it has to be made of plastic sturdy enough to take the weight of heavy people, as some people are bound to use it to step on, and the smaller the market for an item, the more proportionately big the price, IYSWIM!

    A small step either side, or two blocks of wood, would get in the way, you'd be tripping over them , and if one's in just the right place, the other wouldn't be.
