This programme tonight had the Peter chap not marrying/having children. I presume they'll have trawled through all the assizes records to check for any affiliation orders etc .... I can't believe that somebody single, back then, mixing with all the riff raff etc didn't get some girl/s up the duff.

I wonder if he was gay. It's not something one thinks of immediately when you're doing your tree. You see lots of single men and just assumed they were unlucky, completely undesirable/imbecile, or just too ugly for anybody to sh4g. A lot of them must've just simply been gay.

    Happy Birthday Gen

We usually have a special meal at Easter, often with wider family. This Sunday evening 18 of us will be at OHs nephew's house, we are bringing dishes to make up the meal. Main course is roast lamb.

Our responsibility is the cheeseboard, half a case of Prossecco and soft drinks.

DD is making a Simnel cake to take along.

Every Easter I think, 'Oooh, Simnel cake, I'll make one of them'. Total quantity of Simnel cakes I've made in my life? 0. Total number of slices of Simnel cake I've ever eaten? 0. I'm going to make a Simnel cake this Easter*.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. They are very much appreciated as is the support I've had during some of the darker moments of my life from members of our little community.

    :j

*Empirical evidence taken in a 45 year longitudinal study of the subject concerned (i.e. me) shows that it is at best highly unlikely that I will make Simnel cake this Easter or indeed ever.

I've never had any simnel cake either - nor seen any. Just Googled to see what it is :)

Ah, two of my pet hates: almonds, marzipan.

It looks as if it'd just be better for one to make/buy a favourite cake and simply call it "Easter Cake", rather than trying to make something a lot of people wouldn't like. At least if you make/buy a cake you like, the worst that can happen is you have to eat it all.

As of now, all my offspring are officially adults...yes, youngest son turned 18 4 minutes ago.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Oooooffff......

As it happens Mrs McT has never played a stupid Uni drinking game.

So we're watching the final instalment of The Hunger Games and drinking a shot of Vodka every time someone says 'Mockingbird'.

Not convinced we'll make it to the end of the movie.
