I think Eon made a mistake with v19 just like they did with v9 back in 2014.
I saw the v9 tariff one night and couldn't believe my eyes and signed up to it within an hour, then about four days later v9 vanished.
Now v19 seemed rather the same to me and again after a few days it too has vanished, so I am glad I signed up to it when I did.
The reduction in gas prices of around 5.2% was supposed to reduce bills by about £32 according to the media but v19 went much further than that on gas and electricity so now the adjustment to v20 looks like a big price increase.
Eon dropped prices with v17 in January and then again with v19 so that is why I think someone made a mistake because together they have knocked around £300 off my annual bill.0 -
Have you noticed how the big 6 take turns as to who is at the top of the cheap list. Anyone would think there is a cartel running ....... but that would not be allowed by our highly (in)effective regulator would it :rotfl:0

It's not gone unnoticed but are you sure?
Here's me thinking they were just far too busy dreaming up new and innovative ways to diddle the old folks out of their pension to be involved in stuff like that.
But when they start to play at politics instead of selling me cheaper energy it's a step too far and just taking the biscuit. :rotfl:0 -

If you are talking electricity only tariffs - I don't think they made a mistake with v19.
For me (London area), the MSE Eon deal is cheaper than v19.
I think the explanation for v19 is that they were losing too many customers who moved to other suppliers rather than opt for their previous more expensive fixed price deals v.16/17 etc.
If I was MSE I would also be unhappy that v19 so so close in price to their collective tariff. It will be interesting to see what next weeks collective tariffs are priced at - at least one of which (UKPower/iChoosr) will be an Eon electricity tariff.0 -
So long V19 my friend. May you forever RIP. You were much loved but alas you have now gone.
May your spirt live on .... except your spirit does not seem to be in V20 ....... what???? Last time I checked V19 was £1172 for my usage ... V20 is £1581 for the same. How does that work then?
I had already done the CEC move to British Gas and it is going through but I was thinking V20 might have been competitive and thus I would not have moved if it had been reasonably close.
The BG collective switch is putting my cost at £1,066 ... so even with the £30 exit fees (£60 - £30 to cashback to switch) there is biggggggggggg difference.
Am I missing something here???????0 -
It will be interesting to see what next weeks collective tariffs are priced at - at least one of which (UKPower/iChoosr) will be an Eon electricity tariff.
So V19 may yet be reborn and known by a different name after all.
Now that's a cunning plan that both Blackadder and Baldrick would be proud of. :rotfl:0 -
V19 will be reborn as V21 looool0

I must admit the headless chicken logo swap post this morning rather made me laugh...but it seems it wasn't far off the truth. I sense some deflection here, certainly a disturbance in the farce.
Anyhow...can you please tell me more about UKPower/iChoos? Do they collectives and cashback to boot? One can only find room for so many Brians.
I sense me going with the BG collective for a fiver off per month over v19...and perhaps many more too....unless V20 is meant to deflect you toward another deal between Eon and AN Other?0 -
As with all our tariffs we keep our prices under review and always ensure that the they are appropriately priced based on a number of factors, many which change and fluctuate, including the costs and aspects that make up a typical energy bill.
I'm sorry I don't have anything more specific.
Helena
I think if that is all that can be said it would be better to say nothing, which is in effect, what that statement does. It really says nothing.
So I am sure I won't be alone in assuming that people can't be told anything specific, because it needs to be kept hidden.0 -

Yes, some of the posts have been quite amusing
This is probably not a good comparison but the extension of v.19 reminded me of a condemned prisoner filing appeal after after appeal with the deadline being put back so many times..Anyhow...can you please tell me more about UKPower/iChoos?
They are:
UKPower/iChoosr
Energy Helpline/greatbritishcollective (also offered under lots of other brand names)
Ofgem rules have changed so you now need to sign up with these organisations before the prices are announced - so I don't think you can apply for the first one now.I sense me going with the BG collective for a fiver off per month over v19...and perhaps many more too....unless V20 is meant to deflect you toward another deal between Eon and AN Other?0
