  • The bad news is that I've not received anything off Lloyds, the good news is I've phoned them and they have told me that they have cancelled the original cheque. I am assuming (hopefully rightly) that they will now issue a cheque to me. Have decided that if I don't hear anything from them by Friday I will chase it up again.

  • Not very much happening in the 'Desperate' household this week. Still not feeling good so another 2 weeks off work but I have told the GP that I am going back then. It's driving me mad being in the house all day.

Well the good news is that I've received the £50 from the Surface so I've added that to the debt money. Bad news is there is still no news from Lloyds :( Telephoned them again today and they told me that the original cheque that was sent to the received has been cancelled and the next step is to re-issue a cheque to me.

Also had confirmation of an old ppi claim against Welc0me which is with the FCFS. Have had to send ID information for myself and the ex-hubby so maybe something will come of that. I think ex-hubby is hoping for millions but I'll be happy with a few pounds to pay off another debtor.

Have managed to get 50% of one of my assignments done but after sitting here this afternoon for over 2 hours all I've done is move text around the document. Mind has wandered and somehow ended up on here!!!!

Money is OK at the moment, got £58 in the bank, about £70 in my purse and child benefit is due on Tuesday. I'm sure that will keep me going until payday which is the 21st. I might even be able to put a bit in the sealed pot.

  • My welcome FCSC claim is taking a while, I sent everything back late January, called them for N update Monday and it still hasn't been assigned to anyone yet to manage, they said it will be a few months yet. Sigh. Fingers crossed for seed for you !

  • Everything takes time where I'm concerned, nothing is ever straightforward lol.

Spent a little bit of money today on some essentials and off down OH's shortly so hopefully a NSD tomorrow. We are going to visit a garden centre a few miles away tomorrow so hopefully I'll get lunch out of it. I've provided the tea for tonight so it'll be his turn for food tomorrow :)

Have not had anything in the post for the last two days which is disappointing as it means still nothing off HSBC. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get myself up the attic to find the information myself. Was trying to avoid that!

Have been feeling particularly down in the mouth today and when I feel like this I usually spend money to cheer myself up - trouble is, as you probably all know, the good feeling is very short lived. Have therefore resisted the urge to splurge and instead started to read a new book (donated to me by the MIL).

OH has spent an absolute fortune lately - we both love the outdoors so he's bought a new tent (more glamping than camping) and I've just counted its five weeks until our first week away. Something to look forward to. We have all the equipment so we'll just have to pay out hook up fees which I tend to take care of :( Will have to make sure I book our plot on pay day. We don't tend to spend a lot of money when we are away, there's only the two of us and we do a lot of water-sports during the day so tend to be too tired in the evening to go out spending lots of money in bars.

i seem to be counting down the days before we go - I feel as if I so need a break!

  • Today has brought very little in the way of change.

I managed to get away without spending anything yesterday and so far today. I even managed to pop another £3 into the sealed pot.

We didn't go to the Garden Centre as planned yesterday but ended up down the MIL's (again...).

Nothing new on the money front, nothing in the post today and the bad news is I've been up the attic and cannot find the original letter from HSBC so it looks like I have to sit back and wait for the copy to arrive.

On a more positive front, I have done some more of my assignment and have helped DD with hers which she has now submitted - at least I feel as if I've done something productive today.

My mood is still low but not quite as bad as I was on Saturday. Don't know what is the matter with me but think the money situation is getting me down. I know I'm not killing myself to pay it all off but the fact that it's forever in the back of my mind is starting to get to me.

Current money situation is still looking healthy. I have £50 in my purse and Child Benefit going in tomorrow with pay day next Monday. Hopefully nothing will come along and spoil it for me.

  • Absolutely nothing happening in the boring life of 'Desperate' at the moment.

Still hounding Lloyds on a twice weekly basis and still being fobbed off waiting for the return of the cheque before they can re-issue it to me. I'm starting to get really annoyed with them now :(

The plan is to go back to work next week and I really am not looking forward to it. I'm still not 100% but need to get back into the swing of things as being home is depressing me.

Pay day Monday and I've got a heavy month ahead of me so will have to be really careful I don't go off track and buy lots of nice clothes and shoes.

Plan for today is to pop out for a few essentials such as bread and cat and dog food and then off to OH's tonight. Shouldn't have to spend any money again so I'm sure the majority of the £90 in my purse will still be there come Monday.

Have a good debt free weekend everyone.

  • GGGGrrrrr Have just come off the phone to Lloyds - what a bunch of idiots. The cheque has been cashed by the official receiver and they are now trying to find out what's happening. Every time I phone them I get a different story. I cant speak to anyone in payments or any supervisors as they are only a call centre.

Have tried going through to the official receiver and am now waiting a call back from them. Have also contacted Lloyds complaints so hopefully someone will sort it as soon as possible.

Well it was pay day yesterday and the bank balance is looking pretty sick today. Saying that, all DD's have been paid and the cupboards have been re-stocked with food so we should be OK.

Back to work tomorrow and the plan is not to spend any money in the canteen so have stocked up on lots of lunchy things.

Hope it's going to be OK there - bit apprehensive :(

  • Happy Good Friday everyone - gorgeous weather.

OK so the bad news is I'm back off on the sick. Was obviously not ready to go back to work so I've been sent back off :(

Good news is I've traced the cheque. It has been sent to the insolvency service and paid against someone else's bankruptcy account. Have managed to prove I have never been bankrupt and as a result they are sending me the cheque - at last.....

The plan for the weekend is very simple, popping out for some odds and ends today and need to grab an easter egg for GD. Tomorrow we are going to an Easter party so that should burn 3 hours of her energy lol and then down to see OH where I'll stay until Monday morning.

Despite not being well enough to go to work I do feel much better and have some energy so the plan is to do some jobs around the house. I have some rubbish to take down the disposal yard so as that costs nothing that'll be the first job on the list to do. I also have a canopy that I need putting up over my back door and a cupboard on the kitchen needs to be secured to the wall - these are the small jobs that will cost so will have to get prices. I then have to have my gutters cleaned and the walls in the bathroom cladded. These are the more expensive jobs ad even though not massively expensive when you don't have any spare cash everything seems massively expensive :(

As it's half term would also love to take darling GD somewhere nice but will have to see. Lots of great ideas but no surplus cash to back it up - story of my life lol

Have a good easter everyone and keep the spending down.

  • Well I've popped out and as always spent more than intended. Despite my good intentions money is not looking good for April. Really need this cheque.....

  • Easter BH officially over and its back to reality! Chased up 'the cheque' again today and have had to send some form of ID to the Insolvency service before they can refund me. That's been emailed through to them this morning so hopefully will be resolved ASAP.

Spent a good few hours in the garden yesterday as the weather was dry, managed to clear the weeds from one area and put down some weed killer and week control fabric. Need to edge the area off with some railway sleepers that I have and then I an start planting. It was lovely having an extra hour of daylight and I certainly made the most of it outside. Can't see me getting out there today as the weather forecast is showers for most of the day so have decided on a day of ironing :(

Nothing much happening on the repayment of debt at the moment - I just don't seem to have any spare cash but I am maintaining payments on all my agreements so I suppose that's a positive move to becoming debt free.
