well done on the phone have a few ancient one my oh has hanging around might fetch something on antiques road show lol.

I have a debt of about £400 might write to them and offer 50% see what they say
  • OK so am having a paperwork day today and the plan is:

Contact HCBC to find out details of ppi claim that they have written to me informing me I should go through the FSCS. May be a refund there.

Have had to phone British Gas as Central Heating not working so they are coming out before 1.00 pm today.

I need to open a saving account for DS as I don't want him to find himself in the same boat as me in years to come.

Get up the attic and start sorting through stuff for a car boot sale. Once the weather breaks I want to be able to lay my hands on the stuff and go, being off work is an ample time for me to do this!

Have a small ppi refund claim which is going through Lloyds bank at the moment so am going to phone them for an update.

Arrange for daughter to contact her Open University tutor so that they can release her student finance grant.

I am claiming one of my 11 PPI attempts through FSCS for an old Welcome Finance Loan .... Yes 11 claims! So far they have been OK, although when I called them a week ago to ask how long the process takes she said typically 3-6 months eugh. But I did read on another thread they took 6 weeks on average so maybe they tell people longer to get them to leave them alone? Either way get that claim going!

  • Hi guys,

Lovely day today, been out for a little while taking my son to an appointment. Back home now and the plan for the day is to catch up with some washing and drying and help DD with one of her university assignments. I have three of my own assignments to do but helping her do hers seems like an easier option.

Still not received F&F from ARC Europe so I'm getting a little frustrated with that, hopefully something will come in the post today.

The plan is not to spend any money today and as the plan is to stay in for the remainder of the day that seems achievable.

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Good morning,

Early start for me today, have taken Grand-daughter to school as her mum is unwell and also have GP's at 10.00 am. Should be going back to work tomorrow but don't think I'll be signed off.

Not got much planned for today as I'm taking DD to see a group tonight so will need to rest up as it could be a late night. Will see what joys he postman brings and if I have the paperwork I'm waiting for will deal with that, if not will crack on with some of my Uni work.

Hi hope your feeling better today, its nice sometimes to take the grandchildren to school isn't it?

Hope you don't get any nasty post only cheques and money lol

Have a good day I start work at 4 so should be doing housework again but can't quiet get my head round it.
  • Well today was a total wipe out as I done very little.

Grand daughters mother decided to go to see the group with my daughter this evening so I'll just chauffeuring them. Really glad as I was NOT looking forward to going. Currently sitting in house watching cartoons on TV with GD trying to persuade her its time to go to bed - one mammoth task.

Once she's in bed I will catch up on some washing and do a but of tidying before going back out at 10.00 to pick the girls up from their concert.

Nothing much happened on the money front today, no mail so didn't receive any of the paperwork I was waiting for.

    Tomorrow's another day.

  • Another day in front of me and the plan today is:

Having a five minute sit down after taking grand-daughter to school. I am going to have a bit of a tidy-up then and as it's a nice crisp day will take the dog out for a long walk. I always feel better after being out in the fresh air so hopefully that will motivate me to do some more work. Have mountains of washing and ironing to do and still haven't been up the attic to sort through the car boot stuff, also need to hoover the upstairs at some point this week.

Will try and concentrate on the washing and hoovering today and hopefully that will motivate me for tomorrow.....

Am hoping I'll get something in the mail today regarding the F&F from ARC Europe, once I get that I'll have a definite figure to work towards. Another day closer to pay day (19th) when hopefully, F&F allowing, will pay off the first debt.

Valentines day on Sunday and I will have to get the OH something :( Problem I have is that OH has loads of disposable income (good wage, no mortgage, no debts) and always spends lots of money on me. I always feel bad as I can't spend the same amount of money on him as he does on me and even though he tells me not to worry about it, I do. I therefore need to find something to get him that he 'really' wants but doesn't cost a lot of money!

Well my five minutes of relaxation are well and truly over so its off to do some housework for me :(

  • Well so far today I've taken grand-daughter to school, sorted washing into loads and done two loads, third on as we type, got DS's bedroom curtains in the tumbler so can put them back up tonight, hoovered DS's bedroom, walked the dog and popped some fish in the oven for my dinner.

Am now having a sit down waiting for dinner to cook. AM going to plod on with the washing and after lunch going to hoover my bedroom. Think I'll call it a day then. Am still waiting for the mail unable to do anything 'debt busting or money saving'. Have popped the odd £3 from my purse into my sealed tin.

  • Am still working my way through the washing so plan on continuing with that today. AM hoping for a NSD today as I don't have to go anywhere and don't need anything.

Still not received any of the correspondence that I am waiting for so if it comes today will deal with it, if not, will plod on with the housework.

Absolutely hate waiting for things, got no patience at all!

  • Still nothing in the post today :( If I don't receive the information by Monday will contact company again.

Have transferred a few pennies into the debt-busting fund as there was £34.45 in there so am now up to £35, every penny counts. Am hoping I'll be able to pop a few extra pounds in there next Tuesday but have to wait for last few direct debits to come out before doing that. Will hopefully manage to get it up to £50 and can then offer a F&F settlement figure to ARC Europe (if they ever answer my letters).
