Good luck with DRS, lets hope they are a bit better at communication.

Not a wasted day spending it with your GD, all those memories that are being collected, all the other stuff can wait.

Have a good debt busting or NSD weekend

  • Well after having a whole week of not sleeping, it's finally caught up with me today, am sure I could fall asleep standing up lol.

Today I have to pop to town, DD and GD are having a movie day because the weather is soooo bad so I've promised them some goodies, also have some money to pay into the bank for DS so will need to pull my finger out and get up there before they close.

Off down to see the OH later on today and will stay there tonight and tomorrow night, don't know what he's got planned for me but whatever it is it'll be cost effective because he always pays :)

Had a bit of a disaster day yesterday. Had a letter a few weeks ago from Lloyds saying they had mis-sold me some ppi and I was due a refund - it's only for £498 but still. The letter stated that because I had an insolvency practitioner the payment would be made to them! Straight on the phone to them last week to say I had an insolvency practitioner back in 2003 but they had no interest in my finances any longer as this was now settled. Posted off proof to Lloyds but low and behold they have still paid the money to the insolvency practitioner. Have to wait whilst they investigate this and try and get the cheque cancelled and re-issued to me. Hopefully this will pay off another creditor so am desperate to have it!

Been told by Lloyds to be patient and they will sort it. They obviously don't know me - patient is something I just don't do!

Am also waiting for HSBC to send me a copy of their final response letter so that I can have the details of that claim and hopefully refer to the FOS. In my mind there are lots of opportunities out there for me to pay off the debt, but these organisations are just no playing ball with me :(

  • Just as I had anticipated this weekend was completely free, didn't part with a dime. Was so pleased with myself that I put the odd £14 in pounds and £2 coins from my purse into the sealed pot.

Been up early this morning and cleared the ironing and am planning on another NSD as I don't plan on going anywhere. Have had an email off ARC Europe this morning accepting my offer of a £50 F&F but they fail to state that that this will mark the account as settled. Will have to contact them again and ask for clarification on this and then I can pay it off (despite them answering me too late!).

As promised I did sort out a charger for the Surface so once that is delivered I can get all the data cleared off that and sold. Don't expect to make very much but every little helps.

Have done the chores that are on my 'to do list' for today so it's a chill out for the rest of the day for me.

Yea and boo to Lloyds, hopefully will be sorted asap.

Glad you have a nice and free weekend with OH you must have deserved it.
  • Thanks Anita,#

Have just done some number crunching and I have worked out that if Lloyds send me the cheque I can probably pay off 5 of my smaller creditors. I would of course have to ask them to accept 40% of the outstanding debt as F&F but if they agree that'll be 5 less to worry about.

Just have to wait to see if I get the money.....

Managed another NSD again today which is excellent for me. Also got no plans for tomorrow other than housework so hopefully will make it another one :)

  • Have consulted my to do list and it appears that apart from the routine washing the only thing to be done today is hoovering upstairs.

I will have to pop out later for some dog and cat food and have decided to get some flowers for a very good friend of mine who came out of hospital yesterday so not quite the NSD I had planned.

I may do some of my university assignment today - depending on just how bored I get!

  • DRS have at least acknowledged my letter and have asked for some further information which I have provided. Really hope they will accept the F&F and that will be one to cross off the list.

Mail not arrived yet and I'm still hoping that one from Lloyds will turn up with some good news or even correspondence from HSBC so that I can concentrate on those.

No chance of a NSD today as I am taking DD to see a pop concert tonight and we are staying overnight (DD paid) but I have to pay for petrol, parking and some food :(

Also got doctors appointment this afternoon so will find out if I can go back to work (not holding my breath on that one).

Apart from that it's going to be a pretty quiet day for me.

enjoy your concert, who is it, I am so nosey? x
  • Hi Anita, It was Tonight Alive supported by Our Last Night and Milk Teeth. Never heard of the bands before but have to admit they were quite good and DD was happy to meet the band after the concert.

Didn't spend as much as I thought so that was good.

No news on the money front, still nothing off Lloyds, HSBC or DRS. Maybe something in the post today. If not them I think I may phone Lloyds and see what the update is.

Weekend plan is to sort the selling of the Microsoft Surface. It's quite an old one so I'm only expecting to get about £50 but it has to be done - it's just gathering dust!

Been to the doctors early this morning for some blood tests so hopefully get the results of them on Tuesday. Got another appointment a week Tuesday with the GP so may be able to go back to work. I must say I don't spend as much when I'm home and certainly don't eat as much. Maybe work is no good for my figure or my bank balance :)

Will update later once the postman has been.

Hope you all have a good NSD.

Good luck with the blood tests and Lloyds, I'm the other way when I'm at work I don't spend when I'm off I have to leave my card at home and take cash only, don't think I'll ever be good with money.
