  • Good morning all :D
    I don't know how I'm feeling today - physically I'm a bit all over the place. Can't decide if I'm feeling ill or just haven't woken up properly yet and need a cup of tea. Just one more week until half term :j I know I can make it.
    Today's list
    :cheesy: PAD
    :cheesy: tutoring
    :cheesy: tiny bit of marking - I have to do this unfortunately
    :cheesy: go for a nsd after 2 spendy days
    :cheesy: bully the kids into doing their share of housework
    :cheesy: make time for exercise
    :cheesy: crochet
    :cheesy: take a photo of my lovebirds for Ziggy :)
    :cheesy: try and relax a bit
    :cheesy: update YNAB
    That will do for the moment. Have a good day everyone :D

    Morning all :)
    Only intermittent rain here at the moment, which is better than it persisting down all day like it did yesterday :(
    I have fed the hens and dog, and am currently waiting for the shopping delivery. OH has taken the dog out between rain showers :)

    List for today:
    Give plastic carrier bags back to shopping delivery man to get a refund on the charges thay have to make
    Check through fridge and make sure items that need using up are in a prominent position
    Use up as many of said items as possible in the big batch of bolognese that I am intending to make today :)
    Check shopping and put away
    Another dog walk
    HM meals from stores
    No heating on downstairs, wood stove will be lit this evening though!
    Any surveys, FPL
    Prepare RM survey items that need to be posted this week
    Fold enormous sheet that is currently on the airer and put in airing cupboard to finish drying
    Ask OH to put up pictures that have been lying around for ages

    Shopping has arrived, so I need to go and sort that out now.
    Hope everyone has a good day :)

    Morning all, :wave:

    Greetings from the Windy West Coast.

    Today is the last day of my holiday. Back to the grind tomorrow, sigh. Shouldn't complain, it's been a great week off but I'm naturally sad it's over. :o I'm not looking forward to exchanging my well-paid senior management role for a
    less-well-paid physically-demanding shop-floor job. At least I'll be back on dayshift. Bit disappointed that I'm not on the Tue-Fri shift with Sat, Sun and Mon off. I've got the Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri shift instead with Wed, Sat and Sun off.

    But I'm lucky to have a job to transfer to so I should stop moaning and suck it up. :cool: At least two of my pals are on that shift.
    One is Polish so I can improve my language skills while I'm there.

    So today will be a lovely day, weather not withstanding:

    * Coffee again is a sachet brought back from the hotel room drinks tray. Mixed it in with the usual coffee granules as it's not super-tasty. Sweetened with sugar from same.

    * Do RMS Surveys.

    * Do i-Say Survey.

    * Go shopping with OH at big shopping centre miles away as a treat. This is mainly based on the fact that it's howling a gale out and we can do everything under cover there. Try to spend responsibly.

    * Visit phone shop and sort out ongoing phone contracts.

    * Spend £11 loyalty vouchers in M&S.

    * Sorted out car insurance renewal. It's £2 more than last year but I'm happy with that.

    What have you folks got lined up for today?

  • Morning all, some blue sky here too so going to go out for a run soon before it turns as it just rained and rained yesterday.

    Other things:
    Get ready for week ahead, meals planned, clothes ironed, school bags done
    PAD to cc possibly, although with no bank movements at the weekend, my normally rounding procedure doesn't work :)
    Chatted with OH about money, which was hugely positive, just need to put plan in to maxed out action ;)
    Meals from store, check fridge to make sure we're not going to loose anything
    Check FPL

    Check bank later

    Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Stuff I have managed. My MIL is still with us so she volunteered to look after the children so we could get a few things from the supermarket alone and stop for a coffee. She's been a tremendous support I don't know how to thank her.

    Whilst at the supermarket we:
    * used up all our change in the self service machine
    * scanned a voucher we'd recieved awarding us 200 free points
    * used a brand match for 25p off
    * my husband got a t shirt for £5 and a pair of jeans for £12
    * Queued at customer service and had 33 points added on from an old reciept
    * Had a really good talk over a coffee on how we both feel and what priorities are for spending this year (we may well need another car after all this time)
    * OH used his loyalty card to get points in costalottos

    Think that's it. FIL is coming back today with more clothes and stuff for MIL who is going to stay another week to help us. So we have a leg of lamb to cook for lunch that needs to go on soon but OH can deal with that.

    Looking forward to a lie down with the baby in a while.

    Wow, that sounds like a lovely help for you Bob. :D

    It's been a lovely day here too. It's quite windy but all the windows are open for some nice fresh air. The hound dog isn't happy with the noise of the wind so the neighbours are probably not happy with him barking, but hey ho - my house is enjoying an 'airing'! :)

    In other news, I remembered about the YS pork belly I got last week so that has come out of the freezer and we can live another day without visiting the supermarket :T

    Quick Q - does anyone use stardrops for cleaning the washing machine? I'm not sure how much to use but I'm sure it would work wonders (as it does with everything else)...
  • Thanks all for your messages, OH gave me a lay in and it's a fresh day.

    Today we are visiting kids nanny and grandad so that means free food and dinner :rotfl: I have been playing board games with the kids and now DS wants to watch the football, massive Arsenal fan!

    Will get home around 6pm so will bath kiddies, do a wash as school uniform needs to be ready and get the kids to bed. Nice chilled Sunday for me!

    I think I may consider home delivery next time because I can't deal with taking DD around the shops. I just personally prefer to choose my own fresh fruit and veg.

  • Hi guys :wave: make_the_change I agree re online shopping. I have found with dgd I won't go to the supermarket if she is hungry tired or just in a "no" mood, I try to get her involved in the shopping so she's engaged but it is much easier with 1 than 2. I think the path of least resistance is the road we try to take with her, she gets less ratty and we don't get stressed and ratty with her.

    So small things of the day:

    * went for a walk with dgd as wanted to get out of the house. It was an adventure to say the least! As we took a pathway I wasn't sure where it would end up and I couldn't push the buggy, the terrain wasn't great and madam found it hard! But we made it and carried on so it didn't spoil our walk :D
    * found 3p and a golf ball
    * dropped dgd's glove but went out looking for it and found it on our street :money:
    * oh has done 3 things off of the annoying things list without even knowing it :D
    * we all tidied & cleaned the house including dgd who vacuumed her room :D
    * all meals from stores
    * need to put pork in sc - this is urgent as got the meat out on Thursday to defrost :o
    * working this evening 5-12
    * planted 2 pots of salad seeds, a pot of rocket and a pot of coriander. Also put seed potatoes in egg boxes to chit :D
    * going to go and get in the bath in a minute and start getting ready
    * NSD

    That's my lot. Have a great day x
