determined_new_ms wrote: »Hi guys :wave: make_the_change I agree re online shopping. I have found with dgd I won't go to the supermarket if she is hungry tired or just in a "no" mood, I try to get her involved in the shopping so she's engaged but it is much easier with 1 than 2. I think the path of least resistance is the road we try to take with her, she gets less ratty and we don't get stressed and ratty with her.
So small things of the day:
* went for a walk with dgd as wanted to get out of the house. It was an adventure to say the least! As we took a pathway I wasn't sure where it would end up and I couldn't push the buggy, the terrain wasn't great and madam found it hard! But we made it and carried on so it didn't spoil our walk
* found 3p and a golf ball
* dropped dgd's glove but went out looking for it and found it on our street :money:
* oh has done 3 things off of the annoying things list without even knowing it
* we all tidied & cleaned the house including dgd who vacuumed her room
* all meals from stores
* need to put pork in sc - this is urgent as got the meat out on Thursday to defrost
* working this evening 5-12
* planted 2 pots of salad seeds, a pot of rocket and a pot of coriander. Also put seed potatoes in egg boxes to chit
* going to go and get in the bath in a minute and start getting ready
* NSD
That's my lot. Have a great day x
I think I might do a monthly online shop which doesn't include fresh things.... So I get things like tins, frozen, pasta etc.... And then just get fresh stuff once a week like I usually do but without DD. The problem is, Saturday we always meet my mum and sisters as it's our shopping day as a family after my daughter has finished dancing. But I think I will do my shopping the new way and maybe get DD to earn pocket money for the week so when we do meet my mum, she has responsibility of her own money.DMP Started June 20160 -
Was ordering (necessary!) things on Amazon earlier and needed to spend a bit extra to get free shipping, so I ordered a 6 pack of Right Guard for £8. Should last me ages.
You're all going to tell me that's massively overpaying for deodorant, aren't you?0 -
Hi Frugal Friends,
Feeling loads better, assisted by a nice lazy day. Just written a long job-list for tomorrow when normal service will be resumed.

Hey everyone! Just realised that with yesterday's decluttering and today's use-ups they've both been unintentional NSDs :-) that feels good!
Here's hoping that I can make 4/5 days this week NSD's (Thursday's is my dance class for £7!). Fingers crossed!!
Love reading everyone's little actions & plans- helps me feel a little more focussed and that it's not just me on this penny conscious pathFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).

Afternoon all
* received a extra 16 hours in pay check. Had half wages last week due to sickness but they've deceided to pay me the other. Nice unexpected bonus!
* brought home my sealed tip jar from work. £160!!! I was hoping for £50 haha. That's going straight into Italy fund tomorrow! I have another one in bedroom but will do that one another day, that's not as much but still a few £££'s in there.
* cooking Sunday roast from frozen supplies. Meal plan later to use up stock. Hoping no shopping except milk bread next week, putting that Monday towards some more euros for holiday.
* walked to work
* DD1 birthday on Tuesday, plan into budget. Just cake & small craft bits now.
* washing machine going crazy for school uniforms has I forgot yesterday :-)
* list somthing on gumtree
That's it for now xDebt Free Since 05/09/2015Breath out the past, breath in the future Big Dreams Start Small0 -
legomum I am in awe of your ys haul - that's brilliant!
Pleased you're feeling better today foxgloves, and bob I hope you're better too.
And good news on the £££ Jojo
I don't know if it's work stress or not, but I'm definitely not myself. I pulled myself round to go tutoring but got home with a pukey migraine niggling. I've taken my tablets and my head is ok but I'm still feeling too warm and a bit sickly. I think I'll go to bed in a short while and see how I am in the morning before I fret about work and suchlike.
Not the most productive of days to be honest. But I don't feel like doing much other than having an early night. May not even crochet... I desperately don't want to take a day off work but I am honestly feeling rubbishcrazy_cat_lady wrote: »Good morning all

Had a busy weekend workwise but managed to slip in a few DFW activities!
Took can of drink and crisps to work rather than buy at the shop
Ran Cash4minutes on the home phone for four hours
Receipts uploaded to Receipt Hog
Imutual and Cashbackearners clicks
My wife's car was up for MOT tomorrow...ran it to the garage but put £4 wipers on rather than have the mechanic add their own!
Mystery shops for breakfast in town today
Parked for free in Tesco and then ran in to town for two hours
Charged phone in car whilst out and about
Had to get a tracker for my car for work purposes....after a short eBay hunt I picked a 'self monitored' one for £7!0 -
Morning all, some blue sky here too so going to go out for a run soon before it turns as it just rained and rained yesterday.
Other things:
Get ready for week ahead, meals planned, clothes ironed, school bags done
PAD to cc possibly, although with no bank movements at the weekend, my normally rounding procedure doesn't work
Chatted with OH about money, which was hugely positive, just need to put plan in to maxed out action
Meals from store, check fridge to make sure we're not going to loose anything
Check FPL
Check bank later
Run was epic fail, think I felt better than I did
however, did avoid going out for breakfast and decided a coffee later instead, however, started taking lounge apart and ran out of time
used loads of leftovers for a mismatch lunch
No going back on lounge now, skirting off and arch is now a square
Sold one of my faceb00k sales, so that's £15 to CC
1 annoying job done, took about 2 seconds for no cost
Off to relax and do some research for some of my February list things.0 -
List for today:
Give plastic carrier bags back to shopping delivery man to get a refund on the charges thay have to make Done
Check through fridge and make sure items that need using up are in a prominent position Done
Use up as many of said items as possible in the big batch of bolognese that I am intending to make today
Done - also made celery soup, as I had a bunch of celery from last week which had not been used
Check shopping and put away Done, had to request a refund on the satsumas, as 2 out of the 8 were squashed
. I didn't waste them though, they have gone in the freezer for next time I make a batch of marmalade
Another dog walk Managed a decent walk in between the rain
HM meals from stores Done, had the rest of DH's beef (or rather venison) wellington, with a jacket potato and salad for supper, celery soup for lunch
No heating on downstairs, wood stove will be lit this evening though! Done
Any surveys, FPL No surveys today, but I did enter a couple of competitions in my magazine. I will use free stamps from RM surveys to post the entries
Prepare RM survey items that need to be posted this week Done, only 1 thing this week for some reason
Fold enormous sheet that is currently on the airer and put in airing cupboard to finish drying Done, pretty dry, just needs airing a bit
Ask OH to put up pictures that have been lying around for ages Not done - he has stuck an enormous wooden shield thing with huge antlers up on the chimney breast though :eek: Apparently it has some filler somewhere that needs to dry. Happily it is a commission for a client, and not there to stay, as it is more suited to baronial halls than our terraced cottage, and looks ridiculous :rotfl: I look forward to saying goodbye to it on Tuesday when it is being collected :T
Rushed around earlier trying to make sure things in the garden are secure, as a bad storm is forecast in the SW tonight / tomorrow :eek:
Just realised that I managed another NSD yesterday, so off to update my signature

Good Evening All
Bob - Your MIL sounds fab
Foxgloves - Glad you're feeling a little better
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
Was a beautiful morning, so once DS had gone out (he was invited out for the day with his friends and one of the boys parents) we made the most of the day - went shopping and then went for a walk, we live really close to the beautiful Rivelin Valley so we are very lucky. Home for sausage sarnies and got engrossed in a boxset on tv which we'd never seen before. So today we have
Shopping
Visited mum (she's in bed ill - annoyed with youngest brother again, when I rang to tell him, "Oh Ok, she said she had cold yesterday so I'll not bother to call in, got other things I can be doing" Arghhh men :eek:
Checked Bank
Craft - Prepped another 6 cards
Decluttering - 6 magazines to be dropped off at library tomorrow
Read - see above
Had a Home Spa (soak in bath, pampered feet, face mask and nails)
Continued purge on Emails
Entered a few comps
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Checked https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win
Checked Lucky Phone
Have a good weekend! Love to you all!
