Sat/Sun 6th/7th Feb - What Small DFW-Style Things Will You Be Doing This Weekend?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :money:

    Morning all, :wave:

    Greetings Lego Mum.

    Woken up feeling a bit 'daunted' by the day ahead, even though it's a day off. I get like this sometimes. So, today's list is going to take a while to write until I straighten out my head. Bear with me...

    * Coffee is a sachet brought back from the hotel room drinks tray. Mixed it in with the usual coffee granules as it's not super-tasty. Sweetened with sugar from same.

    * Done RMS Surveys.

    * Done i-Say Survey.

    * Deleted some pointless stuff from my To Do List.

    * Cleared out emails.

    * Checked all loyalty card balances. I have £11 to spend in M&S Foodhall. £3 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers are on their way to us too.

    * Checked online banking and backed up Finances Spreadsheet.

    * Our mobiles are nearing the end of their contracts. Need to get my head around this.

    * Wee dash around the house with a hoover and some Stardrops.

    * Need to think about OH's birthday.

    What have you folks got lined up for today?

    Morning all,
    Surprise. It is raining again. Fields are waterlogged.
    Did shopped yesterday 30.01.
    Will update signature later .
    Only 19 ewes left to lamb in the first wave. Nothing this morning , all just doing sheep stuff in the shed!
    Chickens now out and mud skiing round the orchard.
    Quiet weekend for me I hope ready for manic one next week seeing family after a work conference.
    Niece is signing for a house this week which is so very exciting.
    Speak soon and just thinking how well I am doing not internet shopping. Library books and you tube seem to have cracked the bored impulse moment.

    Morning all :)
    Thanks for the start Ally :)
    Surprise, surprise it is pouring with rain AGAIN :(
    Today's list:
    Hens and dog fed
    Dog walks x 2, if it ever stops raining. I have decided there is little point in my going for a walk in the rain carrying a dog lead - and with the dog tucked inside my coat enjoying the scenery :rotfl:
    Need to buy food for the dog and a tub of moisturiser for me - Savers are cheapest for the latter locally :)
    Look through fridge and cupboards to see if I am running low on anything else, as it is 2 weeks since my last proper shop
    Also need chicken / garden stuff but don't fancy lugging sacks about in the rain, so will probably postpone getting this (I have a little chicken food left, so they won't starve)
    Make some pastry as OH wants to make what I think from his vague description is something like a beef wellington. Not sure how THAT will turn out :eek:
    Make a loaf in the BM
    Hoover the stairs
    Wash kitchen floor
    Pop to sales unit while I am out to see if anything needed
    Any surveys, FPL etc. Already done a survey for Yougov :)

    Right, better see if it has stopped raining, however temporarily.
    Hope everyone has a good day, despite the weather :)
  • Pleased you're feeling better Ally - nothing like a good list to take the pressure off. :D:D:D I have 3 lists today, the to-do list, the crafting list and the annoying list.
    Fingers firmly crossed for the flat viewings LaE - hope you're asking the universe for a sale. Brilliant news about the yoga :beer:
    I am going to ask the universe for what I want, which is a secret for now, but I'll let you know if it comes off ;)

    More news:

    A wee word of advice to iPhone users: if you have had your iPhone repaired by anyone other than Apple, particularly if you have had the Home button or cable socket replaced, do not upgrade to iOS9.

    The reason for this is that if you do upgrade the new software will detect that an unauthorised repair has been done on your phone and this will give you an "Error 53" message. The new software can detect that the connection between the sensor and the phone are no longer a genuine"match".

    iOS9 will then "protect you" by disabling your phone. Apple then suggest
    making sure that the phone is plugged in to the latest version of iTunes. If that doesn’t fix the phone, then users should force restart it by holding down both the sleep button and the home button until it reboots. Then users should try again to restore the phone through iTunes.

    However, many users are saying that this fix does not work and their phone is still disabled. On calling Apple users are advised that Apple will only repair phones with this error if the parts have been replaced by them and there is a hefty fee for this. Phones repaired by anyone other than Apple are not covered. Such users are now the proud owner of a very expensive door-stop.

    And we geeks have yet to find a fix for this. Chancers are posting so-called fixes online for a fee but these are all scams enticing you to download malicious programs. I suspect that someone will find a genuine fix before long or Apple will cave in and will help, but for the time being, don't download one of the many "guaranteed to fix" programs going around.
