Psychics

I have been to several mediums/psychics and I could really tell the difference between excellent and swinging it.
The one I saw privately was fantastic £40 an hour ended up being nearly 2 she recorded the whole thing on a tape for me. Within minutes of walking in she told me things that only I knew for example she knew my mums exs partner had issues with drink, that my dad had died when I was very young and that I had, had issues growing up with my knees and hips (i walk perfectly normal btw so not noticeable at all).
She went on in a lot more detail and even knew that my bf at the time had booked a holiday to NYC for my 21st before I did he had only booked it that week and was getting a few bits together before telling me.
I saw one at a psychic fair and she was crap fishing the whole time and got really frustrated when I just answered yes or no and wouldn't give her anything to work with.
I saw another one at a different fair and she was good she had my dad down to a tee and even knew that he had told me off shortly before he died (i was 5 and wouldn't go to bed) she knew about my mum being ill without me saying anything and a few other details she was correct about including some stuff about my dog she told me to mind her face couple of weeks later she caught her cheek play fighting with her brother.
Each to their own but I am a firm believe in the supernatural and I do believe that some people do have gifts just unfortunately not all the ones who claim too are telling the truthFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I cant believe people still get taken in by these people.
There is no such thing as a psychic, a medium, or anyone who claims they can speak to the dead, or read your palm/tea-leaves/cards/last weeks dinner/your dogs thoughts.
There is however, such a thing as con-men, charlatans, swindlers, thieves, fraudster, sham-artist, quacks, rip-off merchants, those who prey on the vulnerable or stupid and the like.0 -

The techniques used by 'psychics' can be explained though, this short video is worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ4uBqdLaXI
James Randi offered $1M for years for anyone who could claim anything supernatural, and no one ever won it.0 -

I'll give that a watch when I am home tonight
I will probably still believe as it brings me comfort to think there is something beyond this world. Same as the comfort some people find in religion I guessFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I went to an awful psychic with my Dad who sat downstairs waiting for his reading whilst I had mine done. She spent the first 45 minutes referring to me having an 'older boyfriend' and how she knew I would have an older boyfriend. I remember thinking, well he's only 2 years older than me but I'll go with it...until she mentioned my boyfriend downstairs.... she didn't mention relationships again after I told her he was my dad!
It's really put me off going to another one because I don't want to waste another £50 if they are useless again.0 -

I visited my first one 27 years ago, she mentioned things in my past that nobody could of guessed, every precise prediction has come true, none were just general predictions.
She told me in detail an accident that would befall my dad in the coming weeks but reassured me he would recover, she was spot on.
I tried another one a couple of years ago and as soon as I sat down I realized it was a waste of my money.
Non believers have that right but they shouldn't ridicule those that believe and have had positive experiences.0 -

There is loads beyond this world. We are made of star dust and there are 100 billion stars just in our own galaxy, with trillions of galaxies out there, maybe even other universes. Stars and planets are born, destroyed and reborn. I take comfort from that, not someone who claims to predict the future.0 -

There are techniques for doing readings. Take the accident prediction, we all have accidents all the time, most of them are minor but she said your Dad would recover so any minor slip, trip or paper cut over the coming weeks could be taken to prove the prediction had come true. If he happened to have a more major accident, that would also be seen as a true prediction. Win, win.
If it could be done, it would be proven and verifiable under scientific conditions.0
