He actually signed the collection receipt with the first four letters of his name. Do I have any recourse with eBay?

No, collection was arranged between britishsignature and my wife as I was working away from home at the time and they said they had transport in Scotland at the time and they would collect it themselves, which they did.
The delivery receipt had luxury living on it but the collection receipt was the same format less the logo.

Out of interest , did they quote you any vat?

As mentioned by previous bloggers, the initial transaction was dealt with by Kelly and the collection by himself. I have e mails from an Adam who apologised about the delay as he was ill, then the conversations stopped. If you phone the mobile number they have, the boss is never there to take calls and promises to call back, but they never do.

There was no VAT mentioned as the transaction was done through PayPal.
