This is more of a vent than anything, seeing as the company wont reply to me or even acknowledge my complaint.
Purchased a 2 seater and a 1 seater 'leather' recliner. 12 months later the 'leather' started peeling away from the sofa and now we are left with this

Wear and tear is fair enough but this is ridiculous. How can a company claim on their website to sell '100% genuine leather' when it is clearly nothing of the sort

Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.

Are they registered with the furniture ombudsman?
How did you pay for it?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

How much did you pay? Just presently they seem to be selling leather 3 seater + 2 seater for £399.99 total. That would be cheap even for a 2 seater on its own.
Given it was debit card and so long ago, you're passed the time limit for claiming. You'd be limited to small claims to get a refund if the retailer isn't going to play ball. They don't seem to hold themselves out (or be) a registered company so you'd be able to pursue them as a person - that doesn't guarantee you any money though and theres also the additional problem that their address listed on the website doesn't seem to actually exist. Theres a whitefield mill but no st marys mill apparently. The phone number belongs to someone named "adam" according to various other posts on various other sites selling leather suites claiming they're worth £1500 and its £1000 off.You keep using that word. A double lie, it ain't leather and it ain't British.
To be precise there is a thin slice of leather with a layer of Polyurethane on top and yours is losing that top layer.

I've looked at a couple of sofas under the" leather sofas "section.
In the description section they both say they are Pu leather or faux leather.
Edit-theses people now selling on eBay with the username " danyasummer_0"
Have feb 2016 opened a company actually called " luxury living international limited".
But on that eBay account are calling it " luxury living ( uk) limited.-( no such company exists-)
The company number next to it relates to luxury living international limited
Edit may 2016 their " danyasummer_0" account closed down , naru
" King-of-furniture" on eBay is one of their accounts I just realised.0 -

This is them? This is the same sofa-described here as bonded leather-which is not leather at all and it's illegal to call it leather .

Yes thats the seller. they also have a website https://www.britishsignature.co.uk
There is conflicting information. I was not made aware of the PU covering. I was sold it on the basis it was a 'cheaper cut of leather'. when in fact now it has almost completely peeled i can see it is just plastic glued onto a very thin fabric covering. Yet on their website they claim it to be '100% genuine leather'
this is the exact sofa http://britishsignature.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=60_73&product_id=64
Under specification- 100% genuine leather
Ignored all my attempts at contactEven a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0 -
They seem to be rather slippery. Various names various addresses .
Here they are newly on Amazon calling this bonded leather -though in the title they say it's leather, and under technical details they call it leather
