According to who?
At no point was i told it was a PU sofa. It was sold as bonded leather. I never once saw 'pu' in any of the description. It is clear from the peeling and the texture now that it has peeled it is nothing but plastic
If the seller was honest why are they selling on various outlets giving multiple fake addresses, dont respond to calls/emails. On their website they claim the product is 100% genuine leather and there is no mention of PU/BONDED at all
There seems to be a concerted effort to list these low quality sofas all over the place. It always comes back to the areas of Lancashire arround Blackburn, Nelson , burnley and colne .
There here is nothing I have found yet to really pin down who and where these people operate out of.
I have found one of these people on eBay is listing the Milano sofa and nowhere in the ad are they stating it is fake leather.
That IS illegal.
You could report that to trading standards, I'd be inclined to speak to, say burnley trading standards by phone as they may well be aware of their activities already.
You could tell eBay them about the sofa you bought and see if someone technical can pull up the original advert from eBay.
You can ring eBay -I find it quite hard to select the correct report section to report them
You could ring eBay and show them the evidence-I'd say a lot of the time day they are probably are listing their mobile number in the ad for a reason.....
Anyone silly enough to buy an item outside of eBay would have no buyer protection..
It seems they are selling this cheap sofa( what also concerns me is, the fire safety of it for example. They say it has fire safety labels but even that is debatable at this point in time.)several ads also say it's made by " sofa sofa" but I think that's questionable and you could check with them to find out if that's true.
It appears they are starting accounts on eBay-using them until they get too much negative feedback then owning another account etc etc.
They state the sofas are guaranteed for a year but after a year when they start peeling they don't respond to complaints ( they only seem to use mobile phones)
I've found a latest one they've just opened on Amazon which is a limited company registered on companies house , contact addresses is a private residence.0 -
The mobile being used at the moment comes back to this person on Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/tabletopgameshopcolne/posts/1626515094254076
That is the name on the eBay account as owner of one particular account
A young lady with the initials KS who seems to be answering the mobiles

Edit-I've now found its highly likely Sanderson has never been her name.
Here's clue as what her surname really is.0 -

Great digging thankyou. Also the guarantee is rubbish. It only covers the specific mechanism on the recliner not anything else, I contacted them just out of 12 months and have to date received nothing other than (funnily enough) a message via one of their gumtree ads this morning. Their reply was 'sorry do i know you'Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0 -

"Influx of 'danger' suites into country

HOUSEHOLDERS are warned to beware of 'bargain' leather three-piece suites.
Bury Council's trading standards officers say there has been an influx into Britain of dangerous suites from Poland, the majority of which do not comply with UK safety legislation.
Several of them have surfaced in Bury and trading standards are urging potential buyers to beware.
The suites often display the swing tags and permanent labels which indicate they comply with UK law but, in fact, they fail to comply with the flammability requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, rendering them unsafe and a danger in the home.
In addition, the suites are advertised as leather but are in fact polyester fabric coated in PVC made to look like leather.
The suites are often sold in the small ads in newspapers or on supermarket notice boards. There will be a 'genuine reason for sale' given and they sell for about £550 with a much higher figure quoted as a previous price.

Peter Jagger, the council's trading standards manager, said, "When the suite is delivered, it is fully wrapped and complaints received at this office indicate the sellers are very persuasive in preventing the suite from being unwrapped until the sale has been completed, the cash handed over and the seller has left.
"These sellers take a number of steps to avoid being found."0 -

Strange as the last ad she posted on Gumtree was only 5 days ago!
Here's her last 8 recent ad's - https://www.gumtree.com/sellerads/1147800018?page=1
Also if you google her number/VAT number there are ad's for sofas all over the net.
Might be worth withholding your number, phoning (text removed by MSE Forum Team) and enquiring about one of the sofas0
