XSpender - sounds totally worth losing an NSD for!
Today I am grateful for sensible y10s and y11s when doing their speaking tests, for dd having a fun playdate, for dh taking aforementioned playdate home, for leftovers, for another NSD.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Still on my feet:j.
Dried all yesterday's washing, DS3 has gone to stay with beloved for a few days so grabbed his sheets and pillowcases. two more wash loads done. Large sackful and an extra bag of my things taken to Oxfam. Two books back to the library and a letter posted. Fresh air blasting through the house.
Best of all, phoned an old contact number and have a man with a van to help collect three small items of furniture (and a kitchen chair + a box and a bit of stuff) with me on Friday evening.
Mum is driving me mad. Phoned to tell her I will be bringing the drawers she wants. Before I was ill I packed as much as possible of her baking stuff in a box (at the hovel) before sending it (labelled) to the bungalow. She has offered some items to various members of her partner's family and has said if they don't want them they should drop them off back at the hovel. I have suggested they bring them to me. She seems to think this is putting them out. They are in cars, they are being given free stuff, they won't take things to the cs. Why should I go back to the hovel to deal with stuff, I have already dealt with?
Sorry rant over - have to keep getting it out then I can still deal patiently with mum.
Today I am grateful for
Lovely weather
DS3 going away - he's fairly undemanding to live with but takes up a lot of room and it's good to be able to clean/ tidy without having to accommodate him.
Simple food - hoping I am back to cooking properly next week but having easy things in the freezer or in tins is helping.
Looking forward to an early night but I took my sheets away this morning so need to make the bed yet ( I might cheat). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening all
OK - I'll get the confession out of the way first. I succumbed to a nice cheap takeaway pizza for tea tonight. I've been so run down and miserable the past few days I've done literally nothing food wise. Blew my nsd with that, but it's been worth it - and I used some of my TCB payout to pay for it.
Today I am grateful forfeeling like my old self
ds in helpful mode scraping the car for me this morning
time to myself watching the Brits (which is fabulous)
my feline friends keeping me company.
Not giving up

Today I am grateful for:
1. Leftover Chinese for tea:D
2. That I am 100% better now my head cold has gone
3. Lovely chickens who lay eggs which I get to eat (and sell!!)
4. DD made cheese and onion puff pastry thing in food tech and she did really well - DH and DS said they tasted amazing (I don't eat gluten so could not have them:()0 -
Didn't manage to get on yesterday so my 4 things were the shower getting fixed (so looking forward to a proper hot shower today), a shorter shift at work, OH cooking tea and curling up on the sofa with a book.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Evening all
The end (of the month) is night  and I am seriously looking forward to payday. It's total skint-ness again for us.
Quiet on here at the moment as well - hope everyone is doing ok.
I bagged another nsd today - only need one more between now and Monday to reach my target, which should be easy as I have no money.
Today I'm grateful forgetting 2 sets of books marked
feeling more like my old self
being able to relax this evening
being prepared for another observed lesson tomorrow (yes, it is less than 8 weeks since my last one - I'm either really good or really bad
)

Hi everyone,
Still mad at work, just popping in for quick update. Not spent anything outside my budget but I have no idea what my counts are.....
Pay day tomorrow yay. Will also be my next mortgage OP (thanks to this forum for keeping me on track).
I seem to be royally sucking at the signing in every day thing so I will try and sort that out. Meanwhile, just off for a quick catch up...
Have a lovely evening all0 -
March thread is in production.
Good session with counsellor and then talking local history with the greeter volunteer - he had a book of photographs I haven't seen for a while but it includes one of the pub my great-grandparents used to run.
Next week I am having my counselling session later in the day and indian head massage afterwards - so picking up on my doing new things again. Have also phoned the film club woman and hope to go to the film tomorrow if furniture is shifted in time. This is not the afternoon 'oldie' film club (they are showing Brigadoon) but the evening 'arty' one. Read about the film 'Calgary' on line and sounds really good.
I have spent (slightly exceeded) my diy budget for the month by buying 2 tins of outdoor wood stain (Beach Blue - bright turquoise colour). The reason for this is that if the good weather continues till weekend, wood staining does not take very long and if I coat the wood pieces that are going to be my new back gate (+ pieces of a raised bed that need re-coating) they could be stored outside without harm (rather than inside the house).
Washing done and dried. Went to Icyland and had food delivered (conserving the energy I have). From the March budget.
I have also seen some curtains in a charity shop. I saw them as I was going past and went in to have a proper look. They are 90" drop and 100" wide, £19.99 (that may be each - they were on separate hangers because they were so heavy). Rich chocolate brown 'taffeta' (probably viscose), fully lined, with a pattern of rosettes in different shimmering browns. Think they are a bargain.
I need to start on the repairs and improvements in March and all most of the curtain fittings and curtains do need replacing but getting curtains would normally come towards the end of the process but my instinct is to be standing outside in the morning when they open.
It's years since I felt like this about something. I went out to buy something 'small and neutral which could be painted over when it got grubby' to wallpaper the kitchen and came back with massive arching pale blue flowers with soft grey foliage. Most unlikely kitchen paper ever - but it worked spectacularly well and stayed for years.
Today I am grateful for
My counsellor and the company of her volunteer
Getting things done when I was quite tired
Lovely weather on a day of contrasts - frosted edges this morning and then lovely sunshine
