Hi all, good evening! Second day of my flu-like symptoms. Sore throat, semi-blocked nose and wobbly joints yet not unwell enough to call in sick. Recently, after finishing work all I do is cook dinner, have dinner, go to bed. On the positive side, I've earned 2 NSD's this week. So that's 2/16. Yay!
It's my second month in my new job. I love it and I am really challenged and stretched due to the vast amount of things I am learning on a daily basis. It's full on from start to finish but not in very stressful way. I haven't got much idle moments or free time like I did when I was on shifts but I am still convinced I made the right move and this new job is good for my health. Maybe when I am fully settled in, I would be able to relax more. Be careful what you wish for eh?
Glad to hear you're home from the hospital now Bob. Please try and take it easy and look after yourself. Stewby sorry to hear about your nightmare at work and that certain people are making you suffer. I have been in that position in the past which lasted 10 yrs. I don't know how I still managed to keep my sanity during those 10 years but I am in a better place now. I couldn't be happier. Have you ever tried to speak to anybody about it?
Apple sorry to hear about your husband's redundancy. Hugs! I hope you and your family will see this trial through and it will not be too long before he can find another (and better and more secure) employment. Xspender congratulations on getting your offer accepted. Best of luck during the entire house purchase. GSR, I'm so excited for you on your very near debt freedom. Would love to type some more but my weary body is trying to get me to sleep. See you all tomorrow and hope you all have a good night's rest."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
From school run time on Tuesday until bedtime last night I had a migraine, I've had them since I was 5 years old so know how to just carry on through the pain, on a scale of 1-10 it was a 7, a 9 or 10 would be a different story. When I was driving to collect DD the sun was low in the sky and super bright and kept going behind a building then blinding me again - this did not help.
Today it is much better and I have my right let's get things done attitude back.
Glad the migraine has cleared.
My DH suffered permanent migraines for 5 years with no let up at all in that time - it was so debilitating. The NHS were useless so we paid to go to the National Migraine Centre in London which is a charity but they have consultants who can help. In a one hour appointment he gave us 2 potential diagnoses and luckily the easiest to treat was the correct diagnosis.
Too be honest it is quite a rare type of migraine my DH has but I still can't help feeling disappointed with the NHS and the wasted time (my DH tried to take his own life over this).
If you want more help than the NHS give it might be worth going to see them.0 -
Great news that Bob is home and Xspender has her offer accepted although I am  at her £10 takeaway. In my house a Chinese costs about £70 !!!
Coming in to report a NSD for yesterday and today.
I haven't quite started my time for myself doing what makes me happy although last night I actually watched 2 programmes as they were shown on the TV, normally I watch them months afterwards.
I am going to make a spreadsheet calendar for what nights I have committee meetings, what nights I will do committee work and what nights I will do my own thing (either TV or reading) plus this way DH knows as well as he was antsy yesterday when he could not watch Silent Witness which he had been planning on all day:rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone,
I vanished sometime during January due to a huge workload....
I did however stick to my budget (only dropped one NSD since I was last here as I treated myself on pay day). I was therefore able to make my mortgage OP as planned. This was so nice to be able to do as I am usually overdrawn and living off credit cards by the end of January.
Can I still play this month...? Even though I'm late.......?0 -
So glad you're able to return home Bob
I'm declaring nsd 2 today, my walking has been to my friends house and back and although I didn't get back into uni work last night I've done 3 1/2 hours today so I don't feel bad about it.Credit card respend 2551.58 (15/02/17)0 -

Good morning!
Mothernerd your counselling centre sounds like a good place. Xspender good luck with the house purchase. And where do you get a Chinese for only a tenner ? GSR thumbs up to the near debt freedom. Applemuncher hope sth turns up for OH soon.
Today will be a SFD. Will go to the corner shop with DS (4) and DD (2) after work but they will spending their own 50p on their Friday treat. Yesterday was a spend day as we went and bought flowers and chocolates for the old nursery as both kids will be in the cheaper uni nursery from Monday. Was joking, why should we have to buy chocolates and flowers, they had 50 grand from us over the last 4 years
Tomorrow will be a spend day too as we will buy a guest bed off a friend. One of those single beds that transforms into a double. They cost £500 brand new without the mattresses and we'll get it for £100 incl one or the mattresses. We had a cheap fold out couch which is still fine as a couch but not so much to sleep on, so might have a look and find a place where we can donate it rather than putting it in the skip.
DS has a birthday party this Sunday but the present hasn't arrived yet. Hope it does otherwise have to get sth else and keep the late one for another kid.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

I've no idea how your poor DH got through that.
Mine were worse as a child, I missed out on a lot. Now they are less frequent and I know what the triggers are - cigarette smoke, bright sunlight, dehydration and very strong raw onions. The one I had this week was less than a full blown one and was caused by Aunt Flo - she brings one every month bless her.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Today is non uniform day for DD at school so £1 spent there. It is for the British Heart Foundation and in addition to non uniform they are selling donuts for £1 (the Crispy Creme ones) I thought this was bizarre - a big lump of fat and sugar does not gel with that charity. Also I don't think school should be encouraging this type of eating. I didn't give DD the money for it but she may well have taken her own - I didn't ask as we have already fallen out every day this week.
Tonight is hm pizza night. DD is at a swimming gala from 8pm to 10.30 pm - great. Me and DH decided not to go and watch as DS is not taking part, it is boiling in there and DD didn't ask if she could take part before she signed up. It would have been £2 for us to go and watch so we've saved money too.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
