Hi everyone.
Glad to hear your home Bob and reunited with baby Bob. Rest as much as you can.
Yesterday managed to spend 14.00 in aldee however 7 pounds skin cream and rest food.
Today looks like another spendy day, drink after work in pub. Only the one honest. Bit annoying losing a spendy day for that, may wear my mini skirt and see if I get one bought lol.
Had a quote for a double glazing unit which is blown at 55 pounds snapped his hand off - so getting that done next week. Be able to look out of my kitchen window then, all misty at moment. Will have to come out of EF for now - cash job.
Not doing to well on SFD's so far hopefully may manage at least one this weekend.
Will catch up reading later, just say boss is in one today and I am not flavour of the month. grrrrrrrLBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Bob - glad you are back home - hope you've got your feet up.
xspender - good news about the house offer, hope it all proceeds smoothly.
TOG - I haven't been to the doctors about my migraines since they started when I was 5. I was given a medicine called Panadol which was vile (they didn't flavour it for kids then) it used to make me fall asleep wherever I was and I would be out for hours and the migraine would usually be gone when I woke up. I suppose I've just got used to managing them plus I absolutely detest putting any sort of medicine in my body unless forced. I use meditation and reflexology sometimes which is effective but takes practice, meditation is particularly amazing for me.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Checking in with. NSD 3/16! The weekend starts now! I had a very positive commendation and/or recognition at work today for a project we've been working on this week and that has ended my working week on a very high note. I have an appointment tomorrow that I need to concentrate on (and maybe panic about) tonight but for the moment I just want to welcome the weekend, take it in for a bit and chill out. We only spend £59 on food and £37 on petrol this week which is under budget. All lunches were packed lunches and clothes/shoes budget still untouched. I found 50p in the bottom of my back up lunch bag which I haven't used for 6 months which I will count as a roadkill.

Hi everyone!
Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I was busy reading what you had all been up to and I'm not sure whether it was the relief of Bob being allowed home or excitement forxspender's offer being accepted, but I passed out. I felt it coming on and I think I managed to lie myself down before it happened, but I was really dazed and frightened when I came back round. DH was upstairs and I managed to reach my mobile and redial the last number, which was his. I couldnt open my mouth to speak, but he realised something was wrong and came down to investigate.
I dragged myself to work today as I can't afford to give them any reason not to keep me on at the end of my contract, but luckily had some time built up and was able to finish at lunchtime. Still feeling a bit fuzzy headed, but hoping it will clear by itself over the weekend.
Managed SFDs yesterday and today, but will need to do weekly shop tomorrow. Otherwise, looking forward to a lazy weekend.0 -
Welshkitty- that sounds rather alarming! Is this a normal health issue for you? Otherwise I'd suggest a visit to the gp.
Today was new money day and I had £8,10/£50 left from last week which is over the 10% put it in my holiday tin which should be over £20 now :-D not bad considering I only started it last Friday!
Spend day today, I succumbed to buying a few treats before foodbank after running out of the house (I didn't find out the car was in the garage until the time I need to leave to walk to foodbank so didn't have time for lunch) which is almost £5 out of my budget this week already :-O and I put £5 on my printing credits at uni printing out online journal articles.
Spent over an hour at uni just locating books I need, debating if that counts towards my 2 hours uni work a day. Having some play time then going to do some reading for my dissertation.Credit card respend 2551.58 (15/02/17)0 -
Another NSD for me today which takes me up to 5.
Tomorrow will be a spend day as need to get a bag of spuds as nearly at the bottom of the sack.
Also out tomorrow night - brought a present for relative (just in case I mention relative again he is DH's kind of step-dad; he is my DH's mum's first husband so to professionals I call him my F-I-L but technically he isn't!!); DH and I are also going. It is a well known jazz band playing in our county so should be quite good. Tickets were purchased at Xmas but may need to pay for drinks when we are there.
Hope you all have a good weekend!!0 -

Not normal, but it happened a few times during and just after my last pregnancy (no I'm not pregnant!). I was rushed to hospital 6 years ago after it happened in the street and I smashed my face in the pavement. Doctors put it down to blood pressure but said it can't be medicated and has to be controlled by diet - which I thought I was managing. I'm not too concerned but will get it checked out if it happens again.0 -
Great news about your house offer Xspender.
Welsh Kittie I think that sounds rather alarming too. Take care and go to visit your gp if possible.
I am claiming today as a SFD. Paid for a taxi to the bungalow (still not sure if I can tackle the large hump back bridge if I walk, I've seen people being blown about on there particularly with a crosswind coming off the canal). Later when I told mum I had some change from last week's shopping, she said I could keep it. It doesn't cover what I've spent in the last couple of weeks but will cover today and another all day ticket some time.
I seem to have persuaded her to part with 2 more drawer fulls of stuff and 5 suitcases today. Just need to get them from the hovel to the charity shop (think one of the people with cars can take the suitcases).
I spent most of my time today hand sewing a curtain for the kitchen at night (partner's gd has put up a small net for daytime). The material was actually too small so had to cut another piece for the top and attach it. Put it up at 1/4 to 7 and apart from when I was eating I haven't stopped sewing all day. Still lots of little jobs to do - someone added the job of fitting the new ironing board cover onto my list today (one g-d had taken some ironing home rather than put the cover on).
Another thread was discussing what things could legitimately be carried which could also (but not solely) be used for self-defence if needed. Just wondering if the police would believe me if they stopped me as I am currently carrying a large nail and a small screwdriver (starter holes for the cup hooks), small scissors (luckily I have left behind the lethal looking shears I had in my rucksack earlier), Allen keys, a leather tape measure, a small tin of assorted screws and several cotton reels (dropped them and cut thread ends in my bag as I finished with them). Need to take the big hammer next week, little tappy hammer doesn't have enough welly - may take the drill. I also have a small angel at the bottom of the bag - untied the ribbon as it was small enough to get overlooked and left behind but keep forgetting to leave it at the bungalow.
Today I am grateful for being fed, for having a lift home and for a minor disaster nearly averted - a box of threads slid off the side of the bed earlier but have mostly stayed in the allotted spaces - so grateful that only a few need to be sorted back into position, that I could actually move and get into position to retrieve them and that I acted quickly and have hopefully stopped them getting damaged (black mould/ damp/ preventative sprays). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Thankyou for all the good wishes for dh. He has done his last day, which was a damp squib and he also had a hospital appointment for his eye. For about 2+ months after the op, he was having to go every week, as they tried different approaches to reduce the pressure. Then at the start of the year he got given a 4 week appt, and now he has a 6-8 week one. So all that seems to be settling down.
bob - good tohear you are home.
WelshKitty - that 'turn'is ratheralarming, especially not being able to talk. Do take care.
Eager Elephant - I too have a 'relative' - my step-daughter's husband. And when dd asks me what relation he is to her, we don't half get confused!
XSpender - as a fellow coeliac, I'm wagging my finger at you! Please don't do yourself such internal damage. It just isn't worth it.
Today I am grateful for good coffee, for getting some sewing, stuffing and cutting out done, for 85% chocolate, for fresh air, for a blanket whose design makes me smile every time I look at it.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
