Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi Turtles

I am being allowed to go home today! But with strict instructions to do very little for 6 weeks due to the serious nature of the infection. I feel blessed and also quite scared. I don't think I'd considered the implications of it not being ok until now.

Calling - I am so sorry to hear about your friends little girl. It must be so heartbreaking for a parent to see their little one sick. Well done on your own debt busting though your catching me up again now...

Dolly - migraines do not sound fun. Glad it wasn't a biggie.

Determined - it is so nice to see you on here too. You'll make a fab Turtle :)

NannyG- I was wondering what had happened to you. We didn't see you on the last few challenges. Glad your ok. Little granddaughter sounds super cute.

Mars - I'm glad your op didn't have any repercussions.

Thrifty - have fun at the gym.

    Bob

Bob, sorry to hear you are in hospital and away from bubs, hope you are home soon.
Hugs also to those who need them.
Only managed 1 SFD so far this month, Monday I bought lots of fruit and veg, yesterday we went to £land and got some new baking trays as ours were peeling and some of those fruit factory snacks for the kids. Icey land had their frozen chipolatas reduced to clear at £1 for 24, with a high meat content too so I bought 3 bags for the kids but we paid for that on the bonus card.
Freezer is full of batch cooked stuff and bought stuff so I'm a happy rabbit, a good few months worth of meals sorted. Should only need to top up with fruit and veg.
I've also worked out that with overtime on this months pay packet after I have made a large payment, I will have only £72 left to pay on my credit card! It's been hard seeing that money going to pay off the card but I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now, and it's taught me a lesson- once you are debt free don't get into debt again!

I have a confession to make - today has been a very spendy day, almost £100. I got my hair cut, got my eyebrows done and bought new makeup. However all paid for out of money and vouchers I got for Christmas so hope I don't have to go on the naughty step ;)

apple sorry to hear about your OH's bad news - hope he can find something else soon.

Bob good to hear you are home but please follow the rules and be careful.

calling nugs for you and your friend.

GSRcat how exciting to be near your DFD.

I have had a SFD. Went to counselling this morning. They have rooms upstairs (ensuite with a tv, videos etc, breakfast provided next morning) if I ever feel the need to get out of my own four walls and relax. I am feeling a bit better, possibly because I can see the improvements in my walking - will be able to do proper walks soon.

Nap this afternoon but have cleared out a whole sackful of paperwork. Most of it has been accumulated over the past fortnight but worked my way from one end of the bed to the other, starting with the files and discarding as much as possible. Still some to go but good progress.

Eaten a frog - wrote another e-mail to my (soon to be ex) energy company about my latest bill (not the final bill I should have received). Precis'd the last 5 emails I have sent and warned that if I do not get my final bill this time I will invoice them for the time spent giving them accurate and honest information which they have proceeded to ignore, distort and mangle. It's a wonder I have any hair left. When I get my final bill that's more paperwork that can go (may also put all the e-mails on a USB stick - 90% of my emails are with this company).

Today I am grateful for my lovely counsellor, for libraries (National Library Day coming up) and for turtles.

    Hi everyone

BOB hope you are at home now, so take it easy and do what the doctor says:)

Not a sfd today as I have had to buy milk and bread. Still eating out of stores but getting a bit fed up of eating planned meals and not being impulsive!!!! ie no pub lunches!!!

Off for a bit of telly watching

  • Hello :hello:
:grouphug: to all that need them. Sorry I haven't been keeping up so well with the thread this month, I've been a bit self absorbed in my own bubble of stress. Thinking of you all though.
Mothernerd - your counselling place sounds fantastic. I would love to have somewhere I could go if I really just needed to escape my life for a bit.
I've been so busy today - didn't finish with schoolwork until about half past seven tonight. I'm relaxing now though. My dh has done the cheerleading run and says he is going ys shopping on the way home (we need bread), but I am declaring a nsd because I haven't been anywhere.

Our offer on the house has been accepted at last! :D:j:D

As today is a spend day we may end up spending £10 on a celebratory take away :o I know a lot could still go wrong but we had thought we wouldn't get it so its a big relief.

Mr T coming tonight for £36.00
DH birthday cards @ £1.98 (gotta love card factory)
Strawbs, cream and pepperoni from Mr T for DH birthday meal tomorrow £3.15
Cash for DH and DS day out on Saturday £30.00
    Chinese £10??

I am now hoping for NSDs this weekend and should grab a few next week as I am away with work from Monday until Thursday and all meals/fuel etc. are covered by my work visa.

Food budget is looking OK. If I can stick to a £40 Mr T delivery a week I will be on budget. I may make the last but one delivery a bit bigger to cover the last week in Feb so only need 3 and not 4 or may try 2 fortnightly deliveries.

Apple Muncher - sorry to hear about your husband's redundancy

Today I am grateful for cheerful colleagues, for great pupils, for dd + friend being brave enough to use dd's sewing machine on their own (thus leaving me free to do my own sewing!), for egg+ mash for tea, for a quick catch up with dh before he had to pop out.

Bob - good news that they are allowing you home. Do take it easy and be gentle with yourself.
