Awful lot of judgemental people on here without the facts to back up their comments.
No we know what you have told us - (amazing all those unlit roads on the way to school - surely they are lit.......by daylight !!!!! )
If you want to teach your kids that laziness and doing the bare minimum and looking a complete wreck is OK - that is your perogative as a parent just don't be surprised if people judge both you and your children on your actions <shrug>I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

1200 metres = about three-quarters of a mile.
So I guess it would take 15 minutes, if I've done the maths right?
15 minutes is far enough to get soaked, the weather we've been having lately!
Which is why most normal people wear clothes and coats rather than PJs and dressing gowns on the school run !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I actually live in the centre of town. I was making the point that assumptions were made without information. Although the bit about health conditions is correct.
My kids are far from lazy. Apart from playing hockey and netball they are both members of the local gym. Not walking to school does not equate to laziness. Why would they walk to school (most days, not the odd day I am off) when I need my car for work and am going to my office directly across the road from their school?
As for looking a wreck, I admit I'm no model, but even doing the school run the odd time in pjs, I am washed with my hair brushed and teeth clean. I don't leave the car so other people see as much of me as they do on the days I am going to work in my suit. I can guarantee that none of the people I see on my way to work in pjs would know I'm wearing them as I always put a fleece over them.
I see you are another who makes assumptions.0 -
I cannot see any reason to wear PJs on the school run.
To me, it just screams 'chav'.0 -
I think it's a bit different with kids. It's fairly commonplace for parents to put small children into their pyjamas before the car journey home. They can then fall asleep in the car and you just have to put them into bed without needing to wake them up and undress them.
They were not small kids.0 -

So your children are NOT disabled as you implied........
However on the "odd days you take off work" you can be bothered washing, brushing your hair and teeth but can't find two minutes more to change out of PJs (which you presumably removed to wash properly) and put clean clothes on ? Really ? LOLI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I think most people seeing PJs at the school gate will assume the person hadn't washed (regardless of if they had or not) and the word that would come to mind is skank.
I wouldn't want MY child teased that his Mum didn't wash (kids do listen to parent's gossip and repeat) so for that reason alone surely getting dressed makes sense.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I never said they were disabled but they both have health conditions, their lives are normal with minor adjustments for their conditions, not that that is any of your business.
I have already said I wash my face, teeth and brush hair. I am not putting clean clothes on until I have had a leisurely shower on my return from the school run. So shock, horror, I am in my pjs for an extra 15 minutes.
I really don't know why you feel the need to attack but I am glad I have managed to fill part of your day for you in what must be a sad and lonely life. See what I did there, I made assumptions without information.0 -

Yes, i agree.
I have only known 1 mum to ever wear PJs on the school run, and i dont think it was coincidence that she was a loud mouth chav whose child never had friends.0 -
I did it a couple of times but with a big coat and boots on. My excuse is that I was on chemo at the time & I barely had the energy to crawl out of bed, let alone do the school run. At least I didn't have to worry about my hair. Lol.Noli nothis permittere te terere
