So... who's done the school run in pyjamas?

Me.
On the extremely rare occasion that I have a day off with nothing planned I have been known to throw my coat over the pjs and drive girls to school. However, I do not have to get out of the car and it is literally a 1.5 mile round trip. It means I can have a extra half hour in bed (very rare) and take all the time I like to shower and dress when I come back. I do always wash my face, clean teeth and brush hair before I go out though.
I would never get out of the car, go into a shop etc.
I did have a colleague who, pre-mobiles, found herself in pjs and stilettos on a very busy main road looking for a payphone when her car broke down. Not good!0 -

Can't win with you lot
I have never done the school-run in actual pyjamas, but have gone in the same top I wore the night before (I normally wear plain t-shirts in bed rather than proper jammies) and no bra. Jeans or tracksuits and clean underwear, rub face with facecloth, good to go. I get properly washed and changed when I get home again.
My reason for not getting up at the crack of dawn each morning to get properly dressed before school, is that having a baby who barely sleeps at night means I treasure every minute I lie in bed before I have to get up and get ready! One day I will be more organised
My SIL lives next door to me, and there have been times one of us has walked the footpath to the other's house, in our jammies, slippers and dressing gown, with glass of wine or cider in hand. Who cares what the neighbours think
That's actually pretty disgusting. Staying in your pyjamas all day is gross and lazy, but sloping off next door to your mates to guzzle a bottle of wine in your pyjamas, while the kids are at school is incredibly chavvy, slovenly behaviour. In addition, it reinforces the stereotype of the stay-at-home-mother that they have tried so hard to get rid of; that they're lounging around all say doing naff-all. God help these women when they actually have to actually go out to work!2gorgeousgirls wrote: »Me.

Why do you take half an hour to get dressed? It takes me 3 minutes. Even when the kids were little, it took the same. You say you go to the school in your pyjamas dressed, so you can have an extra half an hour in bed. That makes no sense to me. It doesn't take half an hour to get dressed!
As I said before, God help you and the rest of these stay at home mothers when you have to go out to work; you won't know what's hit you!
And I won't even get started on why you DRIVE 1200 metres to the school. No wonder adults and children are becoming obese.
FTR, I have NEVER gone out in my pyjamas.0 -

She may have posted that yesterday but this is what was originally posted several days ago:
And?? Have you got something personal against gayleygoo or something? You seem hell bent on picking on things she has said and things she does, and dragging up old posts.
So what if she pops round to her neighbours house in her nightwear with a glass in her hand. If a relative of mine lived next door, I'd probably do it too.
Poles apart from actually going to the supermarket/school run in your nightwear.0 -

Of course I've not got anything against gayleygoo.
I was just responding to another poster who clearly hadn't read the earlier post I referred to.
As for dragging up old posts - I didn't drag it up initially - I read it as it was quoted by another poster.
And quoting a post from 5 days ago can hardly be classed as 'dragging up old posts'. :rotfl:Georgiegirl256 wrote: »So what if she pops round to her neighbours house in her nightwear with a glass in her hand. Just the way you go about it. It's meant to be a friendly discussion/debate, not an episode of Miss Marple!0

I did read the original post and it doesn't mention a time on it, then the poster clarified it as being in the evenings, after work.0

Seriously?:rotfl:
I read some posts and commented on them, I wasn't solving the mystery of who killed Lord Edgeware in the Library. :rotfl:0 -
I once drove to my friend's house at 11 pm in my pyjamas but it was a mercy mission! Friend, husband away, MASSIVE spider, hysterical phone call begging me to come round. I threw a coat over the pj's, time was of the essence and no one saw me. Hero friend saves hysterical friend from man eating spider (tho it wasn't that big! )
The chances of being harmed by a spider in this country are small to zero.
If it were a geniune emergency, ie she was taken ill, I would have come out at 11pm, but an insy-winsy in the house? I think she'd have got an earful from me, lol
And I would still have got dressed!left the forum due to trolling/other nonsense
