The chances of being harmed by a spider in this country are small to zero.

If it were a geniune emergency, ie she was taken ill, I would have come out at 11pm, but an insy-winsy in the house? I think she'd have got an earful from me, lol

And I would still have got dressed!
I guess you need to know somebody with a severe phobia to understand.

I know that if my friend found a stray cat in her house she wouldn't have needed to phone me because I would have heard her scream over the 7 miles that separate our houses.

So I would have dropped everything and gone to the rescue.
Fully dressed though - as it would take me virtually no time at all to pull on a pair of knickers, add a bra, Tshirt, leggings and grab my coat and boots on the way out.

I'm a greenfield sight for sore eyes, and sore eyes are just needing the light, the shapes, and the shadows of the space we share, before it splits into Thin Air.

And how do I 'go about it' (whatever 'it' is)?

    Miss Marple?
    Seriously?:rotfl:

I read some posts and commented on them, I wasn't solving the mystery of who killed Lord Edgeware in the Library. :rotfl:

Just by being deliberately argumentative, smug and trying to catch people out as in "ah, but the other day you said this" and "then on so and so a day you said this" Does it really matter?

Your comment the other day about what you'd caught on your line just kind of stuck in my mind like you were deliberately trying to bait her.

Yes, I thought that a bit odd.

Petra 70 - I could be dressed in 3 minutes except that I don't put clean clothes on an unwashed body and there's no way anyone could be showered, teeth clean, (2 minutes brushing recommended) hair dried, makeup on and clothes on and be ready in 3 minutes. You may be able to be ready and out in three minutes but I would have to question your personal hygiene if you are.

As for why I drive 1.5 miles well, because I can. ;) I also work across the road from the school and need my car for work usually so on my rare days off outside school hols I just keep girls to usual morning routine. They walk home. Not that my reasons for driving are any of your business.

So where exactly did you get the idea I'm a stay at home mum, i'm not and never have been. As I clearly stated I have done the pj run on the very rare day that I have off to myself when the girls are at school. I work hard so I think being able to take an extra half hour in bed is a well deserved treat.

As for the obese comment, you don't have to walk to school to be fit. Both my girls take part in sports and are beanpoles.

You really come across as a self righteous prig. You make a lot of assumptions, maybe you should think before you post.

Well judging by some of the comments on here we must be terrible parents.

Once when we took our two children and their friends to Alton towers they were so tired at the end of the first day but wanted to go out for KFC(double whammy serving them junk food!), the girls had their Pjs on, with their coats on you could not tell.

They thought it was great fun. When we got back to the hotel, they brushed their teeth, fell into bed and were fast asleep within seconds.

I think it's a bit different with kids. It's fairly commonplace for parents to put small children into their pyjamas before the car journey home. They can then fall asleep in the car and you just have to put them into bed without needing to wake them up and undress them.

What does that have to do with parents wearing PJs to take their kids to school ?

Frankly thought if my kids were that tired I'd have had one parent go get takeaway whilst the other bathed them so they ate earlier and could crash straight after if they needed to rather than drag them out again after bathing them and getting them ready for bed.
(You say "We" so presumably there were two adults present -I had the same situation at WDW -my husband was flying in to join us very late that night from NYC - Rather than drag my shattered son out - I ordered a delivery meal )

Yep. Do you know me or my children, do you know if any of us have health conditions? No you don't. Do you know if we live down an unlit country road with no pavements and walk to a school on the edge of town, no you don't.

Awful lot of judgemental people on here without the facts to back up their comments.

    1200 metres = about three-quarters of a mile.
So I guess it would take 15 minutes, if I've done the maths right?

15 minutes is far enough to get soaked, the weather we've been having lately!
