    Dan,

Thanks for the reply - I was really interested in knowing what happens to the MSE cash back if you are/were an existing Eon customer who moved to the MSE Eon collective tariff and is now considering moving to a different cheaper Eon collective deal..

As you know Eon process these 'internal switches' very quickly - in my case, the new MSE Eon tariff was showing on my account with 24 hours from when I applied through the CEC [though the CEC page still claims the 'switch is in progress' two weeks later].

I think during the last MSE collective switch a similar issue/question re: cash back may have come up re: the then MSE Eon tariff and the uSwitch Eon tariff? (I wasn't a Eon customer then)

    Thanks

    Hi gt94sss2

Ahh right I see. A slight twist on what I'd understood, but actually the outcome is more or less the same.

When you switch through CEC, we lock down your account until we hear back from your supplier, so ordinarily you wouldn't be able to switch again until the first cashback is paid.

We can do a manual unlock of the account, but in terms of receiving cashback, this is reliant on your provider reconciling and passing on the referral fee for each switch (for us to split with you by way of cashback).
  • Apologies if I've missed this in the 270 previous messages, but I've just been looking at the Big Switch again and ran a comparison using the link in the email. (I'd switched to another supplier via The Cheap Energy Club a while back.)

The new comparison showed a number of suppliers which are cheaper than the one I currently use. Flow Energy was at the top of the list and also has good customer ratings, but that isn't among the top four suppliers listed on the Big Switch page here https://goo.gl/Ty8vqm

Does that mean Flow Energy are offering better rates than any of the Big Switch suppliers or am I missing something obvious?

Very grateful for any help with this.

Glad it all went through quickly gt94sss2. We have in place a team of advisors dedicated to dealing with collective switches. As you know, we're not allowed to promote or switch customers to these tariffs. Instead, they need to apply through the relevant switching site. This means our usual Contact Centres don't become involved until further down the line. Setting up a specialist team lets us sort the applications more quickly.

  • Malc,

Is the E.ON EHL Fixed 1 Collective Feb 2016 Paperless different in anyway to the v19?

Seems nearly as cheap as the British Gas collective thats on the MSE site, the above was seen on Tariff Team.

As per my post in the forum I'm desperate to get away from BG!! Just im not sure when I can apply with my account with them being up in the air.

    Hi Andrew

Flow launched a new tariff today which is competitive, I understand its average price is £750ish, but in some regions and for some usage types it'll come out on top of the collective tariff which we negotiated.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi dacdesigns

It'll depend on where you are and what you use. There are regional differences that will affect individual comparisons. I'd pop your usage in kWh into the relevant comparison site and see what it says. Although, please be aware, our Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff was withdrawn from sale last week.

One thing to be aware of, the rules with collectives say customers need to have registered with the scheme promoter before an offer is released. If you haven't pre-registered, you might not be able to see the collective tariff. May not apply to you but just something to be aware of.

  • Thanks for the reply Malc,

What's odd is I've registered for the MSE collective and British Gas comes out cheapest, this is using last year kWh from my BG statement. The BG price is a massive saving from my prepayment meters which I have just had removed however I'm really looking at moving away from BG. I have then gone on the Tariff Team website, not registering and just inputting the information needed for a quote and E.ON have come out just a nugget more expensive than BG so seems worth the change. I'm just very confused as to what the tariff is, is it a collective deal or not? seems cheap for a none collective deal.

Many thanks for your help, sorry if this is taking the thread off topic!

    Hi dacdesigns

If you mean the E.ON EHL Fixed 1 Year Collective Feb 2016 Tariff, this is definitely a collective and is only available through the EHL site. We're not allowed to promote, market or switch anyone to it. You'll need to go via the EHL site for more information.

Do you mean the current MSE Big Energy Switch Event 4? This is also a collective and only available through MSE's Cheap Energy Club. BG won the dual fuel product and we're providing the MSE Fixed 1 Year Electric only tariff. Again, you'll need to go through the MSE Cheap Energy Club for either product but before midnight tomorrow, 18 February 16. After this, they'll be withdrawn from sale.

You mention our version 19 tariff. This is one of our core tariffs but is no longer available for sale. It was replaced last week by our Fixed 1 Year version 20 tariff. This is more expensive than version 19 in all regions and for all usage. This is available directly from us, either through our Sales Contact Centre or online via our website.

Hope this helps clear up the confusion dacdesigns.

I've just switched today... but not to the MSE collective.

Co-op for the electric and EDF for the gas worked out £75 per year cheaper and both tariffs have no exit fees! £15+ cashback for the Co-op one but nothing for EDF.

All the figures were there on the Energy Club comparisons but you have to call up the gas & electric separately to see that it's cheaper than any dual fuel tariff. It's a shame that the comparisons highlight the best dual fuel deal but don't draw your attention to a better saving from separate suppliers.
