there are two V19 tariffs, One is online and the other is not. Online one is cheaper. But it will depend on where you live if it will be cheaper than the EON MSE collective
There's only one Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff csgohan4. There is, though, the option of taking this with or without paper bills so can see why you might think there are two tariffs. We knock £5 per fuel per year off bills for going paperless. Even with paper bills, you can still register with our website to manage the account online. It's just that you won't receive the discount.
There are also different standing charges depending on the method of payment. Customers paying with a Monthly Direct Debit have lower standing charges than those paying in other ways.
Savings/costs shown on our website and the independent comparison sites will be different depending on the options chosen.
Sorry for any confusion csgohan4 but hope this explains.

Had email from E.ON today to confirm my switch (done yesterday) to MSE Fixed 1 Collective Feb 2016 (from E.ON Fixed 1 Year V19).
E.ON online account shows I'm on the new tariff.
All seems very efficient. (I'm electric only)
CEC still says I have a switch in progress. Presume this will change fairly soon?0 -
Malc,
I know you say the above and have no reason to think its not true-but you reminded me of some feedback I have for your website guys.
In my account, if I view the current tariff (including unit rates etc), under "Additional products or services" included it states:
- E.ON Reward Points are available on this tariff
- Price Alert service available on this tariff
I have only ever been on a collective tariff with Eon on this particular account but it has always said this.
As such, they may want to make it clearer that collective tariffs are excluded from price alerts a) when signing up to alerts & b) under the tariff information.
Best,
Sunil
Excellent feedback Sunil. Thanks for that. I'll be happy to let our website guys know about this. You're right, it could certainly cause confusion.
Rewards are okay though. Customers on collective tariffs can receive these provided they opt in to the scheme.
Thanks again for the feedback Sunil.

Hi Onzey - it normally takes about 12 weeks for your tariff on CEC to update. Although this is dependent on how long it takes Eon to confirm the switch to us (so could be a couple of weeks earlier).
Hope that helps.0 -
I only got one electricity only v19, it appears it isn't online.
However that doesn't explain why the electricity only tariff isn't cheaper. I assume its because it doesn't take into account the dual fuel discount which MSE say EON say will still be paid, even though the two fuels are on different tariffs. But CEC doesn't seem to agree, which if anything went wrong then I would have no come back.
Hi phillw
We've only the one Fixed 1 Year version 19 tariff. I posted a reply to csgohan4 about this a bit earlier (post 203) above. Might help.
I also replied to your post from yesterday about our dual fuel discount (post 202 above). Hope this helps too.

Don't know at this stage brewerdave. We're not given the prices until the tariff is live. Not sure if you've seen some of my other posts today about version 20? It's been delayed until Tuesday, 9 February 16. All will be revealed then.

You'll be okay to change tariffs with us although you'll need to go through MSE's Cheap Energy Club if you want to go on to the MSE E.ON Electric Only tariff. You can move between our tariffs at any time without picking up an exit fee.
So if I switch electricity today to the collective and leave gas with v19 (that I switched in the last few days) and then next week when v20 comes out I can switch electricity, gas or both to v20 (depending on what you come up with) without any hassle?0 -
Hi Malc
I think based on recent experience the whole Price Alert thing is perhaps not quite what it appears to be at face value.
Unless you look into the Price Alert FAQs or T&Cs (or view threads on this forum), you are not likely to be aware that an alert could take up to 10 working days to arrive. I think this fact should be made more visible on the website. Tariffs can come and go in a 10 day time frame.
Further, on the E.ON Standards of Service webpage a link takes me to a brochure with the words "Because keeping a promise matters" followed by "Our Guaranteed Standards of Service make sure we do what we say we will"
What Guarantee?
I've never had alerts for V18 or V19.
Presumably despite E.ON's T&Cs and fine words there is no real accountability regarding Price Alerts.
Anyway, thanks for the V20 alert on these forums. Now that's what I call a real alert. It makes me aware before the event!
Morning onzey
Fully take on board your comments about our Price Alerts. Sunil (gt94sss2) gave me some related feedback on post 182. I'm taking this up and will add your comments to it.
I think Price Alerts work okay when tariff changes/launches are more spread out but recent activity has been a little out of the ordinary. I agree, there's certainly been confusion around the alerts and definite room for improvement. Particularly in terms of visibility on our website.
Thanks for the feedback onzey and sorry you haven't received your alerts in a timely manner. Glad my updates have helped though.

@frost1979
Once sorted (which seems to be very quick) I would urge you to wait at least until tomorrow to see what Eon offer on their V20 tariff.
If cheaper, don't forget there is greater possible cashback available elsewhere (and then it doesn't matter if your CEC account is still locked).
As you probably know footyguy, version 20 of our Fixed 1 Year tariff won't be out now until Tuesday, 9 February 16. Helena also mentioned this in another thread this morning. As she says, all will become clear then.
