  • I have been sat down looking through my debts and SOA. I think I am able to cut back abit on the grocery shopping. Going to place an order with Tesco this afternoon for delivery next week. The delivery charge is cheaper than taking the car and hubby with me

I really don't think the £42k procedure can happen. At least not until the OP has accepted they have to change their ways and come clean to their OH. Cutting the grocery bill seems to be a drop in the ocean at the moment, the OP would be much better ditching Tesco altogether, Aldi and Lidl are cheaper plus there isn't the temptation there is with the other supermarkets.

The OP can only address their debts with the help of their OH and someone like Stepchange. I agree that if someone needs a procedure which costs so much and it is absolutely necessary then it will be available on the NHS. If not now, then the OP should be prepared to wait until it is, as there is no way they're going to be able to raise the £42k needed for a long time. It may be quicker to wait for the NHS.

£169 is comparable with our council tax if we pay over 10 months and I don't have a mansion - that's just the rate and band where we live (and I tried challenging it as advised by Martin Lewis but didn't win my argument).

As January 2015 said it is because of the area we live in. I have checked previously that we are on the correct rate. We are exactly the same as ever other house on the estate that is the same style and size.

Nearest Aldi is 20 miles one direction. There is no Lidl near at all. Tesco is nearest supermarket.

Wow, well all I can say to that is "thank goodness I live where I do and not where you do" :T
